AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Sounded like the kind of crap you’d write in a paper for your sociology professor going for a word count.

So, people watch these shows to get a taste of the friendship that they can’t get in real life. A faulty and ridiculous premise.

Yeah, but the Old Man is probably a touch more liberal than typical. He seems to really idolize FDR.

Sounds like Rick has more sense than his Old Man.

I remember the episode where someone brought in old film footage of FDR, and the Old Man was thrilled, because that was his favorite President.

Shirley this is not your first time listening to him is it? I know a lot of people think he should be nose to the grindstone leading the troops politically 3 hours a day but he does take time on other subjects. Golf and football are just a few. But it's silly to speculate about some conspiracy if he's not talking about what you want isn't it?

I don't mind him talking about golf and football but to read an entire worthless article written by David Brooks is hard to take.

Well, those are old donations but at least they went the right way. The old man not withstanding. I feel better now...

Funny that the ones marching to the Dem drum call the freethinkers “Brainwashed wackos”

I remember that. That stupid home video of FDR waving? He was probably helped out a lot by the social programs of FDR. Plus I’m sure, as he’s on the strip, he probably feels an obligation to Screed like the casinos do for some reason.

Yeah - he may not donate, or he may have his wife do it in her name or any number of things, but the two that were listed were at least Republican. lol. I really want to go to that store, though.

I didn’t care for it, or understand it when I read it this morning either. Still didn’t get it the second time. Unlike Rush I do read the NY Slimes/WaPo just to keep up on the enemy.

Perhaps Rush was just making fun of David Brooks for writing such nonsense and pretending to be intellectual.

I’m trying to remember if my dad was fond of FDR. I don’t think he had strong feelings about him either way, but I know he was a Republican by the time I came along.

The first President my dad lived under was Woodrow Wilson; the last, George H.W. Bush. He saw a lot of history.

If the Old Man is a vet I’ll give him a pass. You’re right, probably an old union guy who can’t cross over. Mrs S going on Saturday to look for bags, I’ll have her shoot some pics if she sees anything else interesting and post them next week.

Sounds like she can handle it just fine. W shouldn’t have signed a boat load of stuff though. Prescription drug, no child, McQueeg/Foolsgold just to name a few. His ‘new tone’ let the dems/msm say whatever lie they wanted for years too, got him pretty hated for it. That’s Bush’s fault to me.

Rush: “David Brooks engaging mental masturbation without a climax”.

ROFLMAO! Told you he read it just to make fun of him! hehehe...

Thanks da lawd that the show is minutes away from being over....one of the most inconsequential and dull shows he ever did.

The chirpy, boring women rambling on and on took the cake today, that's for sure.

These three hours were worse than a Michael Medved show, and that's about as dull as anything can get.

Don't forget that this 20-year daily listener is referring to his undistinguished fluff/cutting edge-less week more in sorrow than anger. We are the ones that care about him.....to the very depths of our beings.

I hope he'll get in gear next week. Many hot elections need attention NOW....not an hour of Hillary and Bill....or a half-hour of that cretinish, irrelevant David Brooks.
