She said in an interview last month that politics disgusts her. But today Brigitte Bardot announced that she could be running for French president at the next election in 2012.
The former actress, now 76, shocked fans in 1973 when she retired to become an animal rights activist. Now she has been asked by France's Ecology Alliance party to challenge Nicolas Sarkozy for the country's leadership. The party campaigns for animal rights and against the ritual slaughter of livestock by Muslims for halal meat.
Bardot has now written to President Sarkozy telling him she may run against him because he 'took her for an idiot' by not keeping his manifesto promises to outlaw the traditional Muslim treatment of animals.

NEIL CAVUTO, HOST: When you think of Hollywood legends or at least when I think of Hollywood legends, my next guest really comes to mind. She's a Golden Globe winner, she's a Broadway star, and did I mention, she is oh gosh she is a knockout. On Saturday [August 13, 2005], actress Raquel Welch will be honored by the Vietnam Veterans of America for entertaining the troops with Bob Hope back in 1968.
And she’s so well qualified to lead a nation, too.
Zoot alors!
Well we know she isn’t wine, because she certainly didn’t age well.
ROFL..add that to the list of thing I pray no one ever says about me.
She gets my vote; but, then, I’m an Old Fart just like she is.
Sometimes God can be cruel!
I still love her and Sophia Lauren
