For a president under siege, maybe this could help.
In an episode of Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel to be shown on Dec. 8, President Obama will help determine whether the Greek scientist Archimedes really set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun.
Legend has it that during the Siege of Syracuse, circa 214 B.C., Archimedes destroyed the enemy ships with fire, the result of a heat ray involving a series of mirrors set up on the coast. But the question has long remained: Did it really happen that way?
Mythbusters has already tried to test this myth. In 2006, with the help of some students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the show declared the myth busted because it took far too long for any reflected light to ignite a fire on a distant ship.
But apparently, Mr. Obama wants them to try again.
Did Greek scientist and polymath Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun? a press release for the show asks. Will Adam and Jamie be able to pull this off, or will they have to report back to the president that they failed?

The biggest busted myth is that Obama is a centrist
Dear Leader is so smart and powerful, he’s ordering a TV show to “try again.”
Dear Leader has nothing better to do with his time.
Send in the clowns.
Wow ! That’s a perfect fit. You could do a whole month of Myth busters on Barry.
1. Where was he born?
2. Is he really a Muslim?
3. Did he really attend Columbia?
4. Is he CIA plant?
5. Does he hate whitey?
The next myth they should tackle is the myth that they can retain an audience after pulling a stunt like this.
Kermit - It's a myth, a myth
Woman - Yeth??
Seriously? This is the only “can’t miss” show I watch, and the president has to come in and even ruin that? I know those guys are lefties, but I was always happy they left politics at the door and just entertain and educate viewers. I am very disappointed.
Myth: Uhbamuh can give a speech without a teleprompter.
This should be right up Barry’s alley. He has quite a bit of experience with smoke & mirrors.
Is this the myth about him having a soul?
The myth about him being born in Hawaii?
The myth about him graduating from Columbia?
The myth about where he went to 3rd grade?
The myth about his religion?
The myth about his sexuality?
The myth about....
Twice? I only saw the first one and it failed. What did they add to the second one? Did they achieve any success? If so, I’d imagine there would be no reason to revisit this one again...
wtf?
Maybe it's their way of saying they're ready for the show to end.
We are done with mythbusters...unbelievable.
The economy is in great trouble, two major wars, but wait I just saw an episode of Mythbusters and I think you can light ships on fire with a mirror, Mr president they already proved you can’t. Yes Mr. president they even helped the myth along to make it possible they used modern mirrors and it still didn’t work. Barry speaks I don’t care I’m the President and I don’t care what those two guys say. I’m going to prove this myth is true...this just seems so Obama like.
The myth that he never knew William Ayers until he moved to Chicago.
The myth that he was accepted into colleges and law school based upon his academic record.

Archimedes Death Ray 1/25/06
and this man calls himself a president? He’s an actor ... I wonder if he’s got the mythbuster script yet. Also, its a shame, but that’ll be another show that goes on my do not watch list. Darn, I enjoyed those shows. But alas, I follow my own rules. They are either with me or against me ...
"Now I know it failed the last two times, but if we try again I expect the result to be different"
