The arrest of an 81 year old woman in Bexar County, Texas provides a prime example of the need for more states to implement key provisions of the National Voter Registration Act and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).
“Bexar County deputies Monday night arrested a woman accused of using her long-dead sister’s identity to vote twice in the 2008 general election.Cue the ACLU to enter stage left and sue the state for some violation resulting from the use of this new technology. Since the passage of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) many states have maintained a questionable history of compliance at best. When states do try to enforce the law, they are often stopped by lawsuits or accusations of racism. How many more cases of voter fraud would one find if all states utilized sophisticated technology to verify the identify of voter registration applicants?Mary Ann Comparin, 81, was released from Bexar County Jail on Tuesday after posting $10,000 bail, officials said. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s image verification system matched the photo on Comparin’s driver license to the one on the “Collins” license, according to the affidavit.
The system, about five years old, routinely scans 24 million images from licenses and identification cards, and compares them using an algorithm, DPS spokeswoman Tela Mange said.”
DOJ Whistle-blower J. Christian Adams offers his take on the problem and a possible solution:
“Motor Voter struck an important balance — it sought to increase voter registration, as well as ensure voter integrity. Welfare offices and motor vehicle offices became voter registration centers. But the law also required states to conduct list maintenance to ensure ineligible names don’t pollute the voting rolls. Dead people, ineligible felons, and people who moved away must be removed from the rolls by state election officials….Adams points out an important provision of the NVRA that EVERY American should be aware of: private action.The decision of the Holder DOJ to ignore the integrity provisions of Section 8 is deliberate and corrupt. In November 2009, political appointee Julie Fernandes told the entire assembled DOJ Voting Section that the Obama administration would not enforce the list maintenance provisions of Section 8. Section 8 ‘doesn’t have anything to do with increasing minority turnout,’ Fernandes said. ‘We don’t have any interest in enforcing that part of the law.’ End of story.

Not just in the USA but there is a problem with getting ballots out to our military folks.

Voting here in NC is an absolute joke. All they asked me for last time was my name. Any body could go in there and gave a redneck name (no insult to rednecks intended, just proving a point), look like he just crossed the border and vote.
I have been voting here in my native Maryland for over 40 years, and I have never once been asked to show ID. They ask for my name, but I could be someone who is the neighbor of the person whose name I give.
How many urban areas have Acorn workers checking neighborhoods to find out the number of elderly who will not be able to get out to the polls? They can then send their flunkies to vote in the seniors’ places.
I remember reading that many Philadelphia precincts attained 100% voter turnout last election. The Rats have raised voter fraud to incredibly sophisticated levels.
Evidently the woman did not know that she was too old to vote twice, not only is an 81 year old woman too old to vote twice but she was probably not even aware that to vote twice she would have to have 4 or 5 kids and living on welfare and having a different father visiting each night to get their free meals,gee: they need to put her in chains.
What i am saying is that if there is a one of a kind, this is probably it. but who knows?
And i sure hate to see them make an example of an 81 year old woman.

OK - I did some research on a large city near where I live...the data shows that at least 79% of the voting age population is registered to vote. This does not account for illegals, felons, and other of voting age but not eligible. Does this seem too high?
Our local precinct is probably 75% + and is heavy conservative. Places like Austin are likely to be lower, since there are a lot of government dependents.

My mother has been in a nursing home for the past 7 years in NY/LI under total care for the last three and you can bet your top dollar that she hasn’t voted anything but dimocrap in all that time. The staff there is mostly black americans and foreigners.
Is there anyway you can arrange to be there around election time?
It would be better to have her removed from the voting register along with my deceased father who always voted republican. I would be willing to bet that he is still voting almost 10 years after he passed on. I would like to find a way to check his registration.
I am willing to bet that you can go to the Board of Elections website and look for his registration.
Several years ago, I was trying to decide between 2 judges for a local election here in Maryland. There really was not a whole lot to go on, and their political affiliations did not appear on the ballot. So I called the board of elections and asked for their party registrations, and the woman told me over the phone. I was surprised that it was that easy.
BTW, one was a D and one was a R, so I went with the R, who did not win. A year or so later, some decisions made by the D were horrible, as I had feared they would be.
Just checked both parents and it seems that they have been removed. Still it makes me wonder if someone else is running around with their social security numbers.
I wouldn’t be surprised about the SS cards. If you suspect this, you could call about your father. They aren’t very helpful, but you could say that you suspect fraud. They won’t give you any info, but they will tag that #. (I had some personal experience with this, which I don’t want to go into on a public forum, but my efforts were successful at stopping some fraud.)
