true.

Really? You found a single link to a second-hand report from a leftist website by some blogger named Oliver.

I'm asking you: Why does that trump three or four firsthand accounts by freepers on the same thread?

If we only accept LINKS TO LEFTIST BLOGS AS "PROOF", then all kinds of nonsense and lies would be ruining freerepublic.

One poster saying one thing is different from several posters saying the same thing.

Either "pajamas media" works, or we are doomed to be spoon fed the MSM "truth" by jackbooted blog enforcers like "Whine-some Julia."

Are you drunk? There were transcripts and the show videos at that link.

No wonder you want to prevent asking people for proof, you are one of those freepers that posts nonsense, and I bet that people are always asking you to prove your wild claims.

You need to settle down now, you are getting entirely too worked up over this minor thing.

No wonder you want to prevent asking people for proof,

Really?

Not at all.

You went off and satisfied yourself to the level you wanted, which is the correct way to handle it. Which is what whiney jules should've done. Find a link and post it, or don't find one and post that you couldn't find one.

Badgering someone for "a link" helps nothing, especially when you don't bother to apologize for calling someone a liar when the demand is answered.

Again, if four FReepers report that they saw a tree fall and MSNBC does not have a link to a transcript and a video, did it happen?

The slurpee is obviously a response to Obama saying that conservatives just sit around drinking slurpees.

Obama is a little .... weird?

That can definitely happen. I find myself obsessing a little too much also.

I posted on another thread and I believe this.

I think Glenn has panic disorder. My daughter had it and it can mimic a lot of physical symptoms.

Many sufferers think they have MS. Or heart disease. They do suffer psychological numbness.

There are drugs that cure this disease.

That being said, he should take better care of himself. That’s why I never gripe (much) when Rush takes time off, plays golf or gets into football or other distractions. Beck should take a page out of his book.

I hope that Glenn is medically ok. I really cannot stand being preached to by him. When he starts talking about dropping to your knees etc etc. I turn him off. For a while there he was all pitchforks and torches. Beck is good for telling us how often Geo. Washington prayed but he never reminds us that he also gave the command to fire. The minutemen at Lexington did not drop to their knees in the face of the British. They pulled their muskets tight to their shoulders and fought back. He like sto talk about Ghandi but his civil disobediance was a form of force that got results. I beleive that only direct, civil action can save this country. Kneeling and turning the other cheek will accomplish nothing. The honor of the American citizen did not need to be “restored” despite what Glenn thinks. I think Glenn has become very enamored of himself and is now more of a shill for his business enterprises than anything else. I prefer, Rush, Boortz or Levin. They don’t pull punches and say what needs to be said.

I see no indication that Beck is promoting his Mormonism at all. Au contraire, his preachiness is more in the style of that piano-thumpin', southern tent revival, evangelistic, get down on your knees, tithing, old-time religion.

I don't see Mormon elders, Catholic priests, Rabbis, Lutherans, etal on his panels. More often than not it's southern Baptist-type folks, black lay people, non-denominational Protestant educators, authors, academics, and so forth.

However, whatever he's doing lately, it ain't for me, a daily listener from the day he started.

I tuned him out three of his last five shows. I'm a religious person (Missouri Synod Lutheran), but I don't particularly appreciate political ideology in my sermons on Sundays nor do I like over-emotional sermonizing in my afternoon TV programs.

I also don't care to sit through the maudlin confessionals and tedious testimonials from his "40 Days and 40 Nights" self-introspection groups which very much remind me of the liberal, group leader-driven "sensitivity training" circles we conservatives were actively and correctly exposing in the seventies.

Nor do I appreciate Beck's constant and sickening moral equivalencies between the two major parties or between Bush and Obama.......nor do I like MLK Jr. or Mahatma Gandhi consistently being pushed down our throats as some kind of temporal gods we should revere and emulate.

I have no problem with folks who enjoy Beck programs and his particular style......but I personally am more and more turned off by it and I'm finding more productive things to do when he's starts proselytizing and rambling on about this and that, never really making a coherent point except doing and being "good". Does he feel we're all still little kids in Sunday School?

Glenn is unparalleled when he sticks to history and/or exposing marxists, communists, radicals and the like in government, putting together the great panels of authors, thinkers, historians and educators whom I'm riveted by, and commenting on some critical political news of the day.

I hope Beck doesn't blow the great opportunity he (and WE have, also) has, i.e., being privileged to have an hour of prime time before a huge audience. If he continues the Aimee Semple McPherson bit, he'll be left with an audience of loyal fundamentalist-types and handfuls of Libertarians and other third-partyers here and there.......and his program will not be renewed.

Here's to his getting his valuable efforts back on track....and here's to his good health, of course.

Leni

Ansel,

You may still think I'm drunk, LOL, but Winston planted a bee in my bonnet this morning and I'm interested in your perspective.

On another thread below, IL Republican posted his personal (but anonymous) experience about his business.

I can go research and/or invalidate what he's saying and argue or confirm. But I can also take it with a grain of salt, and take it for what it's worth.

If he does not provide "a link" does it make the post worthless or a lie until he delivers a link?

I appreciate insights like IL Repub's, and it helps direct me on where to color in my understanding of the subject, or where to start looking sometimes better than any other article or "link" out there.

I just would rather not see so much "link please!" badgering. It's so silly.

I am a broker primarily trading ag commodities. Corn trades represent probably 85% of my total income.

First off, I am not a fan of the government subsidy. I’m a free market lover, and in years with a very
large corn carryover, it made sense for some capitalists to turn the cheap surplus into a usable commodity.

ADM/Aventine, and others have been doing this for decades.

In 08, there was an ethanol boom with every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to build a plant. During this boom,
ethanol science did improve, and it is no longer a net energy loss to produce.

Raising the allowable blend to go to 15% is not a Mandate to do so, but rather it allows stations to sell it
if properly labeled. You will not be forced to buy it.

My personal opinion is that the demand for it will be so limited no station will buy the necessary new pumps
to sell it.

The price of corn is “sky high” as our supply is down this year and demand is up. In early July, we thought
the national average corn yield might be pushing 170 bushels per acre. The USDA stated this past Friday that
it is 155. The market anticipated various drops along the way, but the last drop was not anticipated. Spot
corn is up 80 cents since the report Friday morning!

In the big picture, this is a non event. The 45 cent blender credit is a much larger issue free market
lovers should take issue with.

My largest account is one of the largest hog producers in the country. Our feed cost has gone up significantly.
Thank goodness for call options!!!

When you try to tell what amounts to a lie? I posted a link with the show VIDEO and the show TRANSCRIPTS of the disputed issue, and you described it as, "Really? You found a single link to a second-hand report from a leftist website by some blogger named Oliver."

freepers cannot take everyone here at face value.

I’ve been a huge Glenn Beck fan since his days on CNN Headline News, but lately I wish he’d talk less about God and 8/28, and more about 0bama and 11/02.

I used to enjoy his radio show, back when he was funny. Over the years pre-TV he became more and more nebulously spiritual, almost new-agey, with a little bit of conservativism but a lot of "don't follow them, follow me." I completely stopped paying attention to him when I saw his Palin interview and he practically drooled trying to get her to run third party.

He's only gone downhill from there, more and more nebulously religious. Something about him reminds me of biblical passages regarding false Christs in the end times.

Amen - “I’m the leader of the next Great Awakening” - perfectly descriptive of his downward spiral.

'He is getting carried away, becoming a preacher. How will he reach people if they turn him off? He seems to be going off the deep end. I doubt it is just a joke.'

Perhaps that is exactly what God wants from him. If those who choose NOT to be reached, that is their problems, not Becks.

God wants as many souls as He can get...actually, He wants us ALL. We are living in very odd times, up is down, right is wrong, etc. This is no coincidence.

I am an end of time believer and I do think we are living in those last days. God tells us to be aware of the signs and will also be sending messengers. It's up to us to be aware and listen to His messengers.

freepers cannot take everyone here at face value.

Agreed.

Nor should they take merely a link to anywhere else as gospel.

I'm sorry if you're pissed off at me because you think I was denigrating your solid link....I was not. I certainly didn't call you a liar. That doesn't even make sense.

Point is, your link had video and transcript.

Ok.

And what if it were just a transcript?

And what if it were just a blogger saying "Beck said X?"

What if the FReeper had transcribed what he heard/recorded?

I'm pointing out that demanding just a link that merely points outside of FR doesn't necessarily prove anything just because it's not from a Freeper.

Whinsome should crosscheck other peoples' claims he/she suspects are dubious rather than bludgeon them with demands for linkys.

We don't need MSM police, we need pajama reporters.

Don’t you have someone else to pester with this personal nonsense, besides, it is way off topic here, just post a vanity thread and raise your issue.

I know what you mean. I have a system whereby I blow off steam when I feel overwhelmed with everything the socialist/marxist/communist/fascist/revolutionary/muslim sympathizer has thrown at us, and then I go to the next step and think smart, and continue with what I am doing to WIN BIG in November, and to remove this damn enemy in the White House in 2012.

That is my only focus at this time, because my life and that of my family and my country are in dire peril, and I'll be damned if socialism is going to succeed in the United States of America. The greatest peril in the lives of my parents was World War II, and you and I are now dealing with greatest danger to our freedom and liberty in our lifetime.

I can confirm what Lazlo said. I heard Beck say it last week.

Now buy a radio instead of ragging on people trying to answer your questions.
