President Obama would trounce former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) in a hypothetical match-up for the 2012 presidential election, a new poll found Tuesday.

Obama leads Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, by a 16-point margin, the Bloomberg News National Poll found.

Fifty-one percent of likely voters said they would vote to reelect Obama in a hypothetical match-up against Palin, who drew the support of 35 percent of likely voters.

Ten percent said they likely would not vote in an Obama-Palin contest, and 4 percent said they were not sure.

As I just said, the GOP base will nominate Romney....it is their M.O., to always nominate the one who works the least to defeat liberal orthodoxy.

You see, when one does nothing in battle, one does not get scuffed up.

If the democrats believe this poll, or if it is confirmed by other polls, they will stop taunting Sarah and ignore her.

If they continue to run against her, then they do not believe she is so far behind The One.

Watch how they expend their political and financial assets — i.e. follow the money

You don’t see the democrats going after Ron Paul, after all.

I think Paul is done running for Prez. At least I hope.

They would not be promoting this line of thought if they did not fear her.

John Bolton won’t be prez. He’s got a really bad mustache. Turns women off.

Go, Sarah, go!

You should always take polls with a large grain of salt. But you know that.

Seriously, who cares? Why are we worried about something that doesn’t need to be worried about right now? All this research is a waste of time and money.

There you go again...

In 1978, the smart set believed that Jimmy Carter would mop the floor with Reagan, if he ran in 1980.

I also can’t say that I think much of your source. You honestly want to believe a Bloomberg poll? LOL

Since I don’t think they should even be able to vote, what makes you think I’d want one as CIC.

I doubt if Hunter will even run.

OMG. He said something sane. The time/space continuum is ready to unravel.

Imagine what would happen if you actually tried to undo the Obamacrats and help conservatives.

I mean, life as we know it on FR would end.........I mean just imagine if we actually all stopped laughing at you............

No way in Hell that this poll is meaningful.

I’m surprised she’s running THAT close. Palin is probably the ONLY republican that Hussein can win against.

Gee, ace, where were you when I said that about 6 month ago. Or 9 months ago.

And FWIW, I will only support candidates dead set against amnesty and LOST and TARP. IOTW, conservatives.

I don’t put any stock into polls this far out. OTOH, Palin is no Reagan.

How many freepers send you freep-mail messages thanking you for keeping up the fight against the cultists? I've started to receive them on a regular basis. They all go something like this...

"Thanks for hanging in there, I got tired of the personal attacks."

My bet is that you see them every day.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I like Mrs. Palin, but don't see her as Pres. I cringe when I hear the name Romney....I fear that he will be who the RINOs trot out as he has stood his time in line. I'm hoping for these guys to give it a shot: Bolton, Christie, Daniels and maybe Jindal. One can dream. I would like to see Bolton as Pres and Ryan as VP where he can really put his SS plan into action. I guess it won't happen, but I think those two would make a heck of a team.

Wow, you mean you've been sane in three whole posts?

Amazing.

So why aren't you helping the Rossi campaign in your own state to undo a total weirdo dem instead of posting your insanity 24/7?

Ans: You're a total loser.

You must not be from the NW corner of IN then...up here it’s 24/7 VITRIOL SPEWING against Daniels (Of course, the liberal rot from Chicago has pervaded this part of the state so wholly that NW IN isn’t a politically viable region anymore).

A blast from the past January 29, 1980:

"President Carter so dominates the American political scene now that his margin over Ronald Reagan in a post-Iowa trial heat has risen to an overwhelming 65-31 percent."
