Maybe Rush should start harvesting the eggs on his portion of the beach.

There are many places in Mexico were the forbidden turtle eggs are sold on the Black Market. Police know they’ve been eating turtle eggs for a thousand years, it’s kind of hard to get them to stop.

It is not just the campesino class that eats the turtle eggs. My boss, a publisher, in El Salvador who grew up in San Francisco, CA would buy them on the street and eat em up.

I received these photos over a month ago. Two sources tell me this beach was grandfathered in for 48,000 eggs but these same sources also say no one is there counting

99% of all species that have ever lived are now extinct.

My daughter “Snoped” this and said it is all false. This was a government project to actually save the eggs for incubation. I did not snope it myself but just going by what she told me.

You need to look at
"Costa Rican Villagers Sell Turtle Eggs to Save Sea Turtles, but Feud with Scientists" "In the early 1980s, scientists learned that because of limited space on the beach, females arriving later destroy the first laid eggs. The researchers wondered: why not let poachers have the doomed eggs?"
American hunters make similar arguments, where legitimate harvesting can help a population or at least not hurt it. Let's not get like the libs and make knee-jerk comparisons.

Turtle egg “whites” don’t turn white when they’re cooked. They stay clear and runny. So why do people eat them?
