A University of Chicago professor and a Muslim organization linked to the terror organization Hamas are teaming up to proclaim that American occupation of foreign lands is the reason for terrorism.
Word of the cooperation between the Council on America- Islamic Relations and University of Chicago political science professor Robert Pape over his new book, called "Cutting the Fuse: The Explosion of Global Suicide Terrorism and How to Stop It," comes from CAIR.
The organization announced in a news release that the book is a "powerful education tool" to challenge "Islamophobia" and that Pape will speak at CAIR's 16th annual banquet Saturday night.
CAIR cites the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism's evaluation: "Through a close analysis of suicide campaigns by al-Qaida and in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Israel, Chechnya, and Sri Lanka, the authors provide powerful new evidence that, contrary to popular and dangerously mistaken belief, religion alone motivates only a tiny minority of these attacks. Instead, the root cause is foreign military occupation, which triggers secular and religious people to carry out suicide attacks."
A deeper level of cooperation between the Muslim group and the author, however, was revealed by the Investigative Project on Terrorism.
The website reported yesterday that Pape was "working secretly" with CAIR to "have its chapters around the country to buy [books] in bulk so they can manipulate the sales to move up the best-seller ranks."
The website said Pape concludes that terrorism is a "response" to "occupation," rather than having anything to do with Islam, which tells its followers to kill "infidels."

islam is an evil system that calls for the death of all non-believers and has been doing so since it was formed. Has NOTHING to do with any occupation. Freedom and Liberty are the enemies of islam as it is based on oppression. There for America is a natural enemy to islam and will be targeted for that reason.

It actually goes back to before 1972 in Munich. The Black September group was organized by none other than Yasser Arafat as a terrorist organization against Jordan for the Palesinians being discriminated against and eventually thrown out of Jordan.
Nobody gave a whit and fewer knew about Jordan so the next best thing was to do something really horrible to make a world wide statement where the whole world was watching the 1972 Olympics.
Hijacking airliners started to be a means to make a politcal statement in 1968 but most of the hijackings were to Cuba prior to the Olympics.
OTOH, Harry S did manage to get them all to quit shooting...

Well, the Democrats are actually more likely the supporters of Islamic extremists than the Islamic extremists true supporters of the Democrats.
At any rate, under this administration they have been uncomfortably close to fellow travelers haven’t they.

True for the case but not for a whole theology. There was a large quiet spot from then to modern times. We went from outright kicking their a$$es to kissing their feet over a 200 year period.
Let's just all agree to kill each other whenever we see a member of the opposing side anywhere on earth, OK?

This asymmetric state of war, where only the Muslims get to attack us, is grossly unfair and completely unsatisfying.
