Biden riles the crowd: 'You’re the dullest audience I’ve ever spoken to' By Jordan Fabian - 10/07/10 02:48 PM ET

Vice President Joe Biden got a laugh from his audience at a Wisconsin fundraising event Thursday when he tried to rile the crowd about the economic collapse of 2008.

“We want to reward people who manufacture things in the United States, in Wisconsin, not to take them overseas to China and to other countries!” he said to a silent room at the event for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Barrett, according to a White House pool report.

He continued, saying “You’re the dullest audience I’ve ever spoken to," at which point he got applause and laughs. "Do you realize how many jobs Wisconsin lost? It’s staggering!"

Biden and President Obama have made frequent campaign stops in recent weeks in an attempt to jolt Democrats who are lagging Republicans in voter enthusiasm measures, in part due to the slowing pace of the economic recovery under the administration's watch.

Biden's appearance Thursdsay was in the Wisconsin's state capital Madison, which hosted a crowd of 26,000 to see President Obama speak at rally targeted at young voters the week before.

The vice president has argued at previous that Democrats have begun to reverse the momentum that had them sliding to large losses on Election Day. He has also taken several pointed shots at the GOP, jokingly saying this week that he would "strangle" Republicans who talk about the deficit.

On Thursday, he took a jab at the House GOP's "Pledge to America," governing agenda.

“The pledge half baked…folks, we’ve been in that oven before," he said. "This pledge is a threat to America."

I hope he also attends a Feingold fundraiser and says the same thing. Ron Johnson owns a company in Wisconsin and exports product to China!

He needs to come speak at a TEA PARTY rally if he’s looking for some excitement!

I heard him give a speech during the Presidential election in which he ticked off the state of Scranton, NJ in the year he was elected to the Senate; and the changes since he had been elected. The list included the loss of many factories, and businesses; a “staggering” loss of jobs.

Why would any of those people vote for him? He was handed a good economy, and he and his democrat friends worked away to destroy it!

He has said the same thing here....that Wisconson has lost a “staggering” amount of jobs since the democrats took over congress! THERE IS A CONNECTION!

Businesses are driven out of an area by high taxes, high wages and oppressive regulation. Democrats, from the local level to the federal level make it hard for anyone to own and operate a business.

Throw them out!

Remember, folks: He is likely addressing libs...this is an audience that begs for abuse and views it as a positive thing.

No, no! Let him talk. If nothing else it’s entertaining and amusing.

These people are fools if they believe Biden is going to stop jobs from going to Communist China. He and Obama are just another bunch of brain-dead Globalists. Check Biden’s votes on NAFTA, WTO, etc....

These people are fools if they think Biden is going to create jobs in America

I stuck up for Biden the other day. Someone said he wasn’t fit for pigs, and I said he was.

Be prepared for an angry phone call from PETA demanding to know why you think so little of pigs as to insult them that way.

Insulting your audience is hardly a good speech technique.

They answered: “We don’t mind; just keep giving us free lunches, free bus rides, and (probably) cash in the hand”.
