Remember how the MSM went gaga over the fact that Obama was the first black to be elected as president of the Harvard Law Review, as though it was some big meritorious achievement. Well it's always seemed a bit mysterious to me how someone without having written any legal article of any import got elected to such a "prestigious" and supposedly meritorious position.

I did a bit of searching and discovered this article from back then from the NYT. After reading it, it's quite obvious that the outstanding "trait" that qualified Obama for that position was the color of his skin.

The position used to be based on merit, but has since become another affirmative action post.

For the time being, so is the office of POTUS. 2012 could change that, however.

Good find. Confirms what we all suspected.

Better make screenshots and PDF’s - don’t want it going down the Memory Hole.

Not really. I’ve seen clones of him and clones of his wife ascend the same way. Some people climb ladders. Some ride escalators.

The New York Times did its best to obfuscate the manner in which Obama was selected. The previous president was Chinese-American but apparently they didn't have to disregard the rules in that case.

At least this puts to rest the question of where Obama was born....

“elected the first black president”

B.S. I’m so sick to death of the lies...he’s NOT black, he’s bi-racial. His mom was lily white.

Putting aside Obama for a moment, don’t you just love how the editors used to be chosen on merit, but “that system came under attack”.

The liberal elites make me puke, Harvard my rear, they are jackasses.

The two money paragraphs:

"On his goals in his new post, Mr. Obama said: ''I personally am interested in pushing a strong minority perspective. I'm fairly opinionated about this. But as president of the law review, I have a limited role as only first among equals.'"

Until the 1970's the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. (snip) That system came under attack in the 1970's and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition . The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.

Emphasis my own. So who knows WHO ghost wrote Barack's special writing competition entry... (but I have my suspicions)

How much more plainly could it be said. We don't want the best and the brightest, we want politically correct skin color.

Ever Wonder How Obama Became President of the Harvard Law Review?

1. Cosmic Joke.
2. Twilight Zone.
3. Harvard board on LSD.
4. Affirmative Action.
5. Because he is smart.

HMMM? Number 3 or 4 most likely.

Good post, good find. So little we know about our peculiar president and what little we learn is of no comfort to the well-being of the whole.

obama has gotten a lot of mileage out of his skin color. There’s no way he would have been admitted into Columbia if it wasn’t for his skin color and Islamic name. My guess is that he wouldn’t have been admitted into Harvard if it wasn’t for his race and name. I know he had a lot of backers to get him in.

“White guilt” got him SELECTED to be president of the Harvard Law Review and it got him elected president of the USA.

This article reveals a lot. I did not know that he waited 4 years before going to law school. In that 4 years he was in Chicago. Why....and what made him want to go there? That is the link that needs to be researched. The "community service" excuse is a front for the real reason. Big time.

How did he pay for law school? Did someone or some group see that he had potential and did they pay his way? His entire story life story is strange and subject to questioning.

It also looks like the Harvard Law Review was due to choose someone of color, so he was picked. Otherwise, he would not have been chosen. It was not out of merit. Pure and simple. He used his color to his advantage at every turn.

Affirmative action is similar to profiling. It is profiling that they are using against Arizona’s immigration law. Of course, all of this is a formula for getting what you want using the race card.
