The Harvard Law Review, generally considered the most prestigious in the country, elected the first black president in its 104-year history today. The job is considered the highest student position at Harvard Law School. The new president of the Review is Barack Obama, a 28-year-old graduate of Columbia University who spent four years heading a community development program for poor blacks on Chicago's South Side before enrolling in law school. His late father, Barack Obama, was a finance minister in Kenya and his mother, Ann Dunham, is an American anthropologist now doing fieldwork in Indonesia. Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii. ''The fact that I've been elected shows a lot of progress,'' Mr. Obama said today in an interview. ''It's encouraging.

I did a bit of searching and discovered this article from back then from the NYT. After reading it, it's quite obvious that the outstanding "trait" that qualified Obama for that position was the color of his skin.
The position used to be based on merit, but has since become another affirmative action post.

For the time being, so is the office of POTUS. 2012 could change that, however.
Good find. Confirms what we all suspected.
Better make screenshots and PDF’s - don’t want it going down the Memory Hole.
Not really. I’ve seen clones of him and clones of his wife ascend the same way. Some people climb ladders. Some ride escalators.
At least this puts to rest the question of where Obama was born....
“elected the first black president”
B.S. I’m so sick to death of the lies...he’s NOT black, he’s bi-racial. His mom was lily white.
Putting aside Obama for a moment, don’t you just love how the editors used to be chosen on merit, but “that system came under attack”.
The liberal elites make me puke, Harvard my rear, they are jackasses.
"On his goals in his new post, Mr. Obama said: ''I personally am interested in pushing a strong minority perspective. I'm fairly opinionated about this. But as president of the law review, I have a limited role as only first among equals.'"
Until the 1970's the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. (snip) That system came under attack in the 1970's and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition . The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.
Emphasis my own. So who knows WHO ghost wrote Barack's special writing competition entry... (but I have my suspicions)
LoL.
How much more plainly could it be said. We don't want the best and the brightest, we want politically correct skin color.
you got that one right, we felt sorry for obama and gave him the presidency out of guilt? Now that is really stupid, but it happened.
If John Kerry were black, he would have been elected. Wow, how affirmative action we have become and obama has ridden on those coat tails his entire life.

Better believe it. I had a great find with ACORN’s own healthcare plan. It was absolutely hilarious — all hospitals to have community members on boards etc. everybody to have 24/7/365 ambulance free ...blah blah .. absolutely no understanding of anything. No expensive equipment etc.
Gone gone gone.
all wiped.
Only his long form birth certificate will put to rest where he was born.
Why won’t he just show it??? Well, either his “father” isn’t his father or he was born elsewhere....or there’s something on it that he figures he doesn’t want us to see and he thinks his own little feelings trump the right of We The People to know if their POTUS is constitutionally qualified to hold the most powerful position in the world.
Yes they are .. and I could be wrong, but
I always thought the most prestigious spot
on the HLR was editor .. are there two
top positions ?
Anyone notice this was published in 1990?
Red Flag? Anyone? Bueller?
The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review. They seem to be saying that minority students just aren't capable of getting the requisite grades. That sounds rather racist to me.
What on earth does that mean? He's like the Borg Queen or something....what an exhibitionist narcissist.
