President: “We Need More Teachers.” Reality: “Yoohoo! I’m Right Over Here! Hellooo!”

This week, President Obama called for the hiring of 10,000 new teachers to beef up math and science achievement. Meanwhile,...public school employment has grown 10 times faster than enrollment for 40 years (see chart), while achievement at the end of high school has stagnated in math and declined in science (see other chart).

Ever wonder why teachers make more per hour than architects?

We don’t need more teachers. We need BETTER teachers who aren’t stupid mind-numbed liberals.

I am wondering if you have to pass some sort of ‘test’ to find out if you are liberal enough when you apply for a job as a teacher

There has to be SOME conservatives who want to be teachers, right? So HOW did they get so infested with liberals?

Yes, but will they be able to defend themselves against students—as in physically defend themselves, or will they be flattened by school principal cowardice? Discipline of students is more of an issue than having teachers per se. We don’t need wardens in the classroom, even if this is, in some cases, all too true.

The good teachers don’t want to be a part of the leftist agenda. They know it doesn’t work and it’s immoral.

Only two solutions for responsible parents: homeschool or private school

If they can’t do either of those, don’t have kids in the first place.

I was watching a documentary on the Nazi controlled government under Adolf Hitler, and the documentary said that the greatest supporters of Adolf Hitler were elementary school teachers. Eventually, the Nazi government controlled every facet of the education in Germany. Let his be a wake up call. I fear we are headed in the same direction.

Obama wants more dues-paying union members - whether they are called “teachers” or not is irrelevant.

Well sometimes children come as a “surprise”. Our daughter came as a surprise at age 37. She is in a rare conservative high school. We cannot afford private school anymore. I am finding that virtual school used by home schooling is the way to go. She is already half way through Honors World History in just 4 weeks. (Shows you how much time is wasted in school) Except for the Biochemistry labs, ASL and Intermediate Portfolio Art classes at school, I'm looking to have her get her remaining HS credits this way. Heck, she could then move on to AP courses and skip almost 2 years of college!

We need K-8 curriculum to be purged of ALL social engineering in the curriculum and in the class room, purged of the Left’s political bias embedded in the curriculum an d text books, and return K-8 education to an emphasis on building, and supporting the advancement of BASIC SKILLS, in reading and vocabulary, geography, math and science.

When the proper cuts are made in what does not belong in the curriculum and in the class room, there is plenty of time left for the existing number of teaching slots to concentrate on the basics. Maybe we need to fire some of the well-indoctrinated “teachers” that have come out of academia with their professors’ Leftist marching orders and hire some retired business people who already have the proven knowledge, skills and real-world experience.

Grades 8 to 12 need a whole other set of reforms, providing very different education opportunities for students with very different levels of already acquired skills, and already established aptitudes, to try to focus on their real world career prospects.

That’s about as original and insightful as saying “we need more funding for education”.

Throwing more union at the problem will make it worse.

We need more teachers because we have more children of illegals taking seats in our classrooms. Lets spend the money instead on deporting 10,000 illegal families.

There has to be SOME conservatives who want to be teachers, right? So HOW did they get so infested with liberals?

The conservatives who have an affinity for math & science went to college and got degrees in things like, you know, math and science. Liberals went to the schools of education, because they are too dumb to handle technical subjects. The government school system considers the latter credential to be sufficient for teaching math & science, but not the former.

Obama: “We Need More Teachers.”

Translation: We need more Bill Ayers types to indoctrinate our kids.

From Investor's Business Daily (IBD), August 27, 2008:

"Ayers, now a tenured distinguished professor of education at UIC, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.

One of Ayer's descriptions for a course called 'Improving Learning Environments' says prospective K-12 teachers need to 'be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and ... be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, teaching for social justice and liberation.

The Annenberg papers are quite extensive — 132 boxes containing 947 file folders with 70 linear feet of material. They undoubtedly contain more surprises regarding Obama's relationship with Ayers, one of many relationships Obama has sought to hide.'..."

Sorry to break it to you but it won’t make any difference. The vast majority of her generation are stupid, nasty, destructive, envious freaks. They will punish her for being intelligent and successful and they will win. The stupid outnumber the smart by a million to one.

It’s why I’m NEVER having kids and will remain celibate to ensure it doesn’t happen by accident. There is absolutely no hope.

Let's do some quick mathematical checks.

10,000 new teachers - a nice sounding number ain't it?
But was is the practical impact?

10,000 new teachers spread out among, let's say 40 states, cause after all not every state supports the Emperor, do they?

That boils down to 250 teachers per state, assuming a politically equal sharing.

So, how many schools does your state have? I think it is well above 250.

So these teachers will be concentrated in schools that “need” them while the rest of us do with out.

I wonder what this proposed program is really designed to do; other than provide so political buzz for the Emperor and his supporters.
