Rick Lazio will drop out of the governor’s race today, withdrawing from the Conservative Party line, a source told DN Capitol Bureau Chef Ken Lovett.

Farewell for now?

“He’s out,” the source close to Lazio said.

Lazio is scheduled to make an announcement about his future as the gubernatorial nominee of the state CP at a noon presser today.

Another Lazio source said he also expected him to withdraw.

“Rick Lazio alway does the right thing,” the second source said, adding he wasn’t told directly by Lazio.

What does this mean for Constitution party? All Lazio needs is 50,000 votes and they get to run in the presidency.

Tancredo is gaining....different circumstances. He has a chance to win or at least get second place. Lazio would be third for sure.

I think he is pulling out completely and backing Paladino

He should have done this a long time ago... but the more Paladino’s name is in the news the better

I think Andrew should be invited LIVE on TV as many times as possible to- he looks and sounds like A DUNCE

Carl Paladino has a really good chance to make a difference
and whup up on Cuomo (sp?) now and I know that his team is hard
at work to see it happen. NY needs REAL hope and change from
the corruption that has been a part of that machine in Albany
for SO long!

Live hooker or dead boy?

He ran in the NY primary on both the Republican, and Conservative Party line. He was defeated on the Rep. line by Carl Paladino, but he could remain in the race on the Conservative Party line if he wanted to. He has absolutely no chance of winning, so this is the best move he could make if there is going to be any chance at all to defeat the anointed Andrew Cuomo.

What does this mean for Constitution party?

It means that their business, which consists of extracting money from the same contact lists of gullible donors election in and election out.

Chuck Baldwin's mortgage payments are secure.

He was always out of the race, he just didn’t know it.

Remember when Lazio was a bright new hope, he was going to beat Hitlery for the Senate seat? And then he fell out?

What happened?
