Netflix is now in Canada, offering local subscribers an online movie and TV streaming service for $7.99 a month. The move marks the first international foray for the California-based online streaming/DVD-by-mail giant. Etan Vlessing caught up with Netflix co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings in Toronto as he reaches beyond his 15 million American subscribers to start rolling out his online subscription service around the world.

Hmmm... I might need to cut my Netflix subscription back a tier or two.
Bad answer to the question. He should have pointed out that the Canadians don’t get physical delivery - only streaming. So, in fact, they are getting less that US subscribers.
I hated Netflix . They sent broken or unplayable disks about a third of the time and turnaround was really slow. I use a local rental outlet now and am much happier.
Doesn’t bother me. I just wish that Netflix had some kind of plain text index, because vast amounts of their inventory I would like to rent I have no clue they even have.
A big help is the “Hacking Netflix” website, because it at least has a handy list of new releases. I’ve probably picked up a hundred titles that would have otherwise been missed there.

14 bucks a month is a bargin for what I get (2 DVD’s at a time and all the streaming I can handle). I’m at a point where I’m condemplating getting rid of cable TV. I get my news from sites such as this and my entertainment mailed to me.
I pay about $15 a month for netflix.
I LOVE THE SERVICE! It’s a great deal for me,
and as long as the good service continues,
I certainly don’t mind paying less than half of what
I would normally spend for the CRAP cable service offers.
WHY the hell should I be ticked off over what they are charging Canadians???
Better yet, What the hell business is it of mine what my next door neighbor is paying for the same service???
What the hell is wrong with Netflix expanding???
Libtards need to BUTT THE HELL OUT!... and quit trying to convince me I’m getting screwed.
Netflix can damb well charge whatever the hell they want to.
If they charge too much, I’m sure a good competitor will come along eventually. I’ll complain then by switching.
>>> Im at a point where Im condemplating getting rid of cable TV. I get my news from sites such as this and my entertainment mailed to me.
I was rid of cable a full year before I got Netflix.
Never missed it a bit.
Didn’t realize how much I hated channel surfing until I didn’t have to do it anymore.
Bad answer from PR perspective, but it is accurate. Most of America doesn’t really care what’s going on in the rest of the world. Heard about the floods in Pakistan lately? There’s pretty ugly stuff going on there and 99% of Americans will answer that question “what floods”.
There is so much free on the internet I’m surprised Netflix is still so viable.

lol... i’m just the opposite.
I was getting sick and tired of bringing home scratched up discs from local rental stores that I had to clean and buff repair in hopes that I could get it to play.
Havn’t seen a scratched dvd from netflix yet.
I agree, I am very satisfied with NETFLIX. Once in a while my movie will get kind of slow, but otherwise there good.
There are numerous indexing/search sites of Netflix titles:

I canceled Netflix a long time ago & went with Blockbuster.
That $13.99 ($15.05 with tax) 2-DVD plus all the streaming is great.
I started it about 5 months ago. I also got the Roku box for streaming direct to the TV.
Except for a few TV programs, primarily on USA, FX, TNT and A&E, I seldom watch anything on ‘regular’ TV any more. Netflix is adding many more TV series to their streaming.
Blockbuster just declared bankruptcy. It’s re-org not liquidation, but they’re expected to get rid a lot of store fronts.
I know I’m lucky. The local rental place is owned by a movie buff who has a wide selection to rent and also picks up used disks to sell (Blu rays are $5-10). The chain rental places I’d imagine are just as bad as my experience with Netflix.
And Blockbuster just filed Bankruptcy.
Ping for looking at link at home.
