September 18, 2010 (HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.) (WLS) -- Thousands of conservatives and Tea Party supporters gathered for a rally in the suburbs Saturday.
The Sears Center in Hoffman Estates was host to "Right Nation 2010." The headline speaker was cable news commentator Glenn Beck.
Also on the speakers list was Republican nominee for Illinois governor and State Sen. Bill Brady.
There had originally been reports that Brady would skip the event. Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk was not attending.
Saturday's gathering comes just days after Tea Party-supported candidates won primary elections in several states. Approximately 5,500 people purchased tickets for Saturday's event, with prices ranging from $67 to $1,200. Many said they attended as a prelude to the November elections.
Conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party independents arrived at Saturday's rally by the thousands, all passionate supporters of talk show host Glenn Beck.
"I believe what he says, and he says what he believes. I'm a big fan of his. The country is going in the wrong direction, in my opinion," said Cal Starr, Right Nation 2010 attendee.
Beck's keynote address Saturday comes fresh off his rally in Washington last month.
Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady's appearance was criticized Saturday by his Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn.
"I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck. I believe in folks who put people together, and I think that's what I've done as governor of Illinois," Quinn said.
Although Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk did not attend, Libertarian opponent Mike Labno did.
"He's not a conservative. He's not a Republican. He's not a Libertarian. He's none of those, and that's what this event is bringing in, is that type of a crowd. Why should he be here?" Labno said.

I can throw a rock from my home and it'd land on one of #4's fairways. I've seen Tiger, Vijay Singh and a host of others play #4 over the years but personally I've never golfed the course as I'm just not a golfer.
Looking out over the course is beautiful though!
Every saturday morning they invade my neighborhood, mow the lawns, trim the bushes and do the edging then disappear for another week...
That’s a new twist. Glenn Beck is draining the Republican coffers. mr.Beck has done a terrific job of exposing the Democrats and Obama.
People choose where they put their money. I’ve heard some “conservative” talk radio guy expouse not supporting Beck’s rally and using the money for a candidate of choice.
Sounds like jealousy to me.
Why the hatred for Glenn Beck? You might hate the Tea Party people as well.
Many are going to the Beck rally.
By the way there is a Cook County and Chicago Tea Party and I am a member and it can be discouraging in Democrat land
but like the FR
we do connect with other conservatives.

Apparently, Breitbart got into a yelling match with
some protestors.
I played Cog Hill a lot and Joe Jemsek was the owner then.
Joe was very serious about maintaining the 4 courses at Cog Hill in tip top condition. I am sure Joe is gone by now so may be the courses have changed.
#4 course is exceptional because every hole is completely different from others. I could play there after 3pm in summer for $10 in the 1960’s! After the PGA started playing there demand went through the roof since it is a public course. Last time I checked the green’s fee was $155 x 4 players and must be guatanteed with a credit card. My best score there was 87.
Interesting news video. The black news anchor mentioned “hate” how many times? LOL. I lost count.
That’s what’s on the menu for them .. how much
you wanna bet they were paid/incentivized by SEIU
or other unions?
Waiting to find out Breitbart’s reactions. He got
right in front of them in the video.
you wanna bet = the protestors
Right, I saw that. Andrew is a patriot.
I’m glad he was there and I’m glad the Republican nominee for Illinois Governor, Mr. Brady, was there too!
He is .... he should replace Steele .. he’s
fearless.

Gee, once again "party unity" is a one-way street with Mark Kirk. Amazing how all those "big tent" RINOs like Kirk, Castle, Crist, Mercowsky, and Scozzafava claim conservatives MUST "get behind the party nominee to stop the Democrats" when they win, but won't be caught dead supporting a conservative nominee in the name of "party unity" if they lose.
I almost feel sorry for the conservatives who are voting for this socialist in the sincere belief he'll "stop Obama" when we need him.
Almost.
Labno’s position to cut off all funding and handouts for illegal aliens is better than you’ll get from any of the three socialists candidates running.
DIABLO (Democrat In All But Label Only) claims he’s “against” illegal immigration and for “securing the borders first”, but his voting record shows the opposite. Kirk supported amnesty in the past and even voted AGAINST requiring hospitals to report illegals, for crying out loud.
And Kirk’s latest Spanish language ad about “fighting for latino families” should remove any doubt who’s side he’s on:

We have to deal with the cards we were dealt. My ideal candidate was Randy Stufflebeam of the Constitution Party, but he was kicked off the ballot. Ronald Reagan said a person who is with me 80% of the time is not my enemy. Labno is with me 80% of the time, Kirk isn’t even with me 50% of the time. The choice is clear.
Indeed they are. One of the Democrat sleeper cells on the RATS payroll is Mark Kirk. Despite the "R" next to his name, he is a loyal yes-man for the Chicago machine. The machine hedged their bets and made sure both major parties nominated "their" people, so no matter who wins the election they will have a Senator who rubber stamps the Obama agenda.
Elect Kirk and you'll do a terrific job of thrawting the anti-Obama mandate nationwide and ensuring Olympia Snowe gets a new pal to make Obama's marxist schemes "bipartisan"
Sales tax, gas taxes are less in Will than C(r)ook county. Property taxes used to be higher but across the county line in Orland Park they're about the same as I have where I am .... so I'm not so sure that's the case.
I can’t wait to vote,,,I’m still trying to figure out the best way to do so and not have Mary Herrera steal my vote.
Best of luck to you. I hope your good guys win!
“so bang your drum on the Dummie site, please...”
Not quite sure who the hell you think you are, but I’ll bang my “RID US OF RINO’s” drum wherever I please. We are EXACTLY in this position because people vote party over principle. The times they are a’changing. Deal with it.
