September 18, 2010 (HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.) (WLS) -- Thousands of conservatives and Tea Party supporters gathered for a rally in the suburbs Saturday.
The Sears Center in Hoffman Estates was host to "Right Nation 2010." The headline speaker was cable news commentator Glenn Beck.
Also on the speakers list was Republican nominee for Illinois governor and State Sen. Bill Brady.
There had originally been reports that Brady would skip the event. Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk was not attending.
Saturday's gathering comes just days after Tea Party-supported candidates won primary elections in several states. Approximately 5,500 people purchased tickets for Saturday's event, with prices ranging from $67 to $1,200. Many said they attended as a prelude to the November elections.
Conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party independents arrived at Saturday's rally by the thousands, all passionate supporters of talk show host Glenn Beck.
"I believe what he says, and he says what he believes. I'm a big fan of his. The country is going in the wrong direction, in my opinion," said Cal Starr, Right Nation 2010 attendee.
Beck's keynote address Saturday comes fresh off his rally in Washington last month.
Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady's appearance was criticized Saturday by his Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn.
"I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck. I believe in folks who put people together, and I think that's what I've done as governor of Illinois," Quinn said.
Although Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk did not attend, Libertarian opponent Mike Labno did.
"He's not a conservative. He's not a Republican. He's not a Libertarian. He's none of those, and that's what this event is bringing in, is that type of a crowd. Why should he be here?" Labno said.

That's sad.
How many dollars did they give to Beck?
Did he he stuff the dollars into his magic underpants?
Conservative in Chicago IL 60657. I think there may be 2 of us....
Where is 60657??? If I csn’t walk to it, I don’t know it!!!
I lived in Chicago area for 37 years and the suburbs are very nice and livable. Fantastic golf courses (Cog Hill #4 where the pro’s play a tournament every year is my all time favorite golf course, along with Tiger Woods), huge number of excellent restaurants with every ethnic flavor imaginable. The entire Lake Michigan lake front of the city has parks & golf courses and is several miles long. Lake Shore drive separates the parks and the city buildings for the entire length of lake front. Rush street rocks with trendy bars and Michigan ave has world class shopping. Only reason I left Chicago was weather.

This will explain the dynamics of the situation and why electing Kirk would be worse than electing the crook.
Did he he stuff the dollars into his magic underpants?
Sounds as if you have something in a twist there.
Weather is horrible..I lived there from 59 to 93. Albuquerque now.... Much better weather.... Political climate about the same as Crook County. That might be changing somewhat in November.
Another amusing footnote. Kirk asked for but didn't get, Sarah Palin's endorsement during the primary.
Kirk's 10 year record as a U.S. Congressman speaks for itself. Yes, I hope he loses too.
An "R" behind his name is completely meaningless.
At least ABQ has a GOP Mayor & Council... now we just have to sack Heinrich...
Combine”R”
I’m with you! NEVER will I vote for that liberal creep and can proudly say I’ve shunned Kirk for every single election. I was apparently in the minority of republicans who continued to vote for that fraud.
I think there are many plants here on Fr and have been for some time...
and I think the rats are paying people to deliberately thwart Pubs chances in Nov....
what a phony....
you watch...while Rush and Sean and Levin are asking us to get involved and to donate, donate, donate, the phony Beck is collecting up to $1200 for his sermons....
seriously, are these Mormons just trying to support their guy?....because I don't get it...
I am in Clark county, WA state now, the weather is much milder than Chicago. Drizzles a lot in in winter but no snow to shovel! WA-3 district is competitive this year with Baird gone. Danny Heck the is hiding his “democrat” party tag on every poster and every commercial. Jaime Herrera (R) is leading him by 3 points.
Kirk could ride the republican tsunami to eek out a win in deep blue Illinois. We need majority leader McConnell or DeMint. Can’t get there without 51 republicans.

you gave us Gregoire...you gave us Freakin...you gave us Clinton....
it was a strong Pub contingent that derailed the Clintons in the 90's.....remember that?....
and it was a sole republican back in the early 80's who started the whole modern conservative movement....
so bang your drum on the Dummie site, please...
