Key House Races Update - We've Added WV-03 and the GOP Gains continue
KeyHouseRaces.com ^ | 18 September 2010 | Interceptpoint

Posted on 09/18/2010 11:19:16 AM PDT by InterceptPoint

We've added another Vulnerable Dem to our Master List: WV-03

That brings our list to 99 seats. We now have 87 Vulnerable Democrats and 12 pretty safe Republicans on out list.

This weeks news:

It was a pretty average week for our six "Experts" with a total of 23 upgrades to the races on the KHR Master List but the Dems managed to get just 3 of those 23.

We've added the Freedom's Lighthouse to our list of Pickup Projections and they currently are predicing a 49 seat pickup.

We are now listing all the Pickup Projections we can find on the Home Page at KHR.

And we've revised our list of the latest Polls. We now list all of our polls sorted by both District and the KHR Posting Date. You can find those Polls HERE.

We've also added a link on the KHR Home page to our Tier 2 List. That's the list of Districts that are showing some movement in the polls and with our 6 "Experts". We've promoted 8 of these races to the Master List in the last few weeks.

Here's the summary of the changes to our Experts' ratings:

  • There were a total of 23 updates this week to the 99 Congressional races that we believe are truly in play this year.
  • 20 were favorable to the Republicans
  • 3 were favorable to the Democrats

Those changes moved our index to -.160 from last weeks -.158.

Yikes you say - just like last week. How can we make such a small pickup with all those positive changes for the Republicans????

The answer is that we've added another Vulnerable Dem to our list that is, at this point, still favored to hold on to his seat. This skews are index. We knew that would happen when we add new Dems to the list. But we've added one more target and that is what counts.

September 18: Hawaii Freepers - Go vote for Charles Djou. Show the power of the Tea Party.

Very nice analysis. However, am I right in that this is based on polls and surveys? If it only depends on how people vote, then according to your chart we have no chance to take the House.

How people will vote is not the issue. How much the dems cheat is the deciding factor. Many of these races are close and it is my belief that the amount of cheating will hold those seats for the dems.

Just being pragmatic and praying that I am wrong.

#60 ID-1 / Democrat Walter Minnick vs Republican Raul Labrador
-1.0 / Leans D

Boise Tea Party endorsed Raul Labrador should be running away with this race, but the national Tea Party Express endorsed Minnick some months back in a typical Washington politics move to give itself ‘bi-partisan’ cover.

Because of this, the waters in Idaho district 1 have been significantly muddied. The Democrats may keep this seat, and Pelosi may keep the Speaker’s gavel, thanks to the Tea Party express.

Minnick did not seek Tea Party support, and took the opportunity to reject the Tea Party Express endorsement and then ridicule the Tea Party movement.

Please, contact the Tea Party Express and tell them that if they can’t get behind the true Tea Party candidate in the race, at least stop supporting the Pelosi supporting Democrat.

I’d like to see an ongoing thread here at FR on races that we can organize behind that are tossups or lean Dem. That way people in safe districts can send money and do support for those flippable districts. Any idea on how to go about that?

You have found that thread. We post a status update every Saturday and the website, KeyHouseRaces.com, is a 100% Freeper creation. It's just us. Just the good guys.

And you have stated quite well the reason KeyHouseRaces and this thread exist. We want to show people which races are really in play and which are the ones we should support. Right now I think the Toss Up races on our list are the right ones to give financial help to.

I don't know.

Raul Labrador is a lawyer for illegal immigrants. He will probably vote for amnesty.

So I guess you are supporting Crist over Rubio, too?

Raul was born in Puerto Rico, is a life long American citizen, and not a supporter of illegal immigration or amnesty. He has local Tea Party support throughout Idaho. Only the national and overly political Tea Party Express has endorsed Minnick, and they did it thinking it could be a carrot to other Democrats to oppose 0bamaCare... As if Democrats cared about Tea Party support. Quite the contrary, Minnick proceeded to spit on the Tea Parties, denouncing the movement and rejecting the endorsement.

Labrador will not vote for amnesty, but all of Pelosi’s Democrats will if they keep the House. Minnick will do what Pelosi tells him to do, and that includes voting for amnesty or 0bamaCare if she needs the votes.

Are you willing to give Minnick the tie-breaking vote to let Pelosi stay Speaker of the House? Are you saying things might be better with a Pelosi supporting, Tea Party hating Democrat than a Tea Party endorsed Republican, just because he has a Hispanic name?

Wow, way to play the race card. Loser.

Let me break this down for you:

Marco Rubio actually respects the rule of law and supports legal immigration. He is awesome!

Raul Labrador does pro bono work for criminal illegal aliens and doesn't respect the rule of law. He is a scumbag.

This doesn't have anything to do with race. You are pathetic.

Rubio has taken public positions contrary to yur claims.
You’ve lied about both Rubio and Labrador’s positions now.
But I ask you again, you’d prefer Minnick and his possible tie-breaking vote for Speaker Pelosi, assuring amnesty pushed through the next congress?

I've been following your posts every week and have waited for for some update on the Pantano/McIntyre 7th District race in North Carolina.
Pantano is the hardest worker I've ever seen I would hope he can take out McIntyre, what's the word?

Democrats face a series of dramatic defeats at every level of government in Washington and beyond in Nov midterms, according to leading analysts and opinion polls. The U of Virginia’s widely monitored Crystal Ball forecasts sweeping setbacks on Capitol Hill and the loss of a clutch of state governorships Nov 2.

Such is the scale of the expected losses, that according to local polls, Democrats are on course to lose the governorships of left-leaning states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania..............and may be vulnerable in Illinois, long a Dem party bastion, and home to Ohaha and his WH crew.

" Holy Allah. Illinois? Gone? Get that little twerp Rahm
in here. Him and his permanent Democrat majority."

Wasn’t Spike a Democrat before he was a Republican?

Yup...life-long. He lost a primary for a judgeship in '08. According to an interview I heard when he first announced, he switched in Nov.'09.

WV GOP is da pits!

If there is a ‘’tidal’’ wave defeating many RATS we must remember it is going to take many many more ‘’tidal waves’’ till this current crop of leftists dies off or is in an old folks home somewhere. One big year ain’t gonna cut it.

Sometime I think things are just moving too fast for me to keep up. NC-07 is, in fact, on our radar screen. It will be on the Tier 2 list for sure next week. RCP has it at Leans D.

I'll do a survey this week and see how our other 5 "Expert" view the race. If anyone else has it as Leans D it will go on the Master List.

You are the one who is pathetic.
You are taking a line right out of the Democrat scumbag's smear ad on TV.

Tell me, if Labrador is an immigration lawyer (who helps people become naturalized citizens, and helps families adopt children from overseas) then how doesn't he "respect the rule of law"?
He is a lawyer working within the legal system, to help people immigrate legally, dumbass.
If that isn't a supporter of LEGAL immigration (just like Rubio), then what is?
You are trapped by your own weasel words.

Nancy's boy Minnick has been exposed as a liar, so why are you repeating his lies here?
Why are you doing your best to help Pelosi keep her majority and smearing a true Tea Party patriot?
You must hang out with Karl Rove.

Is this of all seats in the House? If so, we are basically looking at only having a solid pick-up of 17 at this time?? That is well short of our magic number...

Our list is the seats in the House that are in play. We have 99 seats and 87 of those are Dem seats. The Republicans figure to lose 2-4 seats max. We need 39 plus 4 or 43 plus a few more to keep the cheating down. There are 48 Dems who are rated Toss Up or better from a Republican perspective and that number grows weekly. We can win the House. Give some money to the Republicans in the Toss Up category and you will help achieve that goal.

Friends don’t let friends vote Democrat.

The only good Democrat is a defeated Democrat.

If we wan’t to stop the Obama regime, there needs to be a 100% house cleaning from top to bottom of any and all Democrats. Democrats who voted 80% with Pelosi can and will betray conservatives.

Everything else is noise right now.
