EDITORIAL: New gay Army--Top general calls Christian soldiers 'bigots'
The Washington Times ^ | September 16, 2010 | Editorial

Posted on 09/16/2010 5:17:29 PM PDT by jazusamo

Next week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to begin floor debate on a defense authorization bill that would repeal the Clinton-era "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces. Last month, a top military official offered a glimpse of how the military might look should the new policy take effect: Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) agenda are no longer welcome.

Those were the views of Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army's deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters who spoke about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before several hundred troops at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. "Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them," Lt. Gen. Bostick said. "But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can't, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you're always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today."

The strong words take additional significance from Lt. Gen. Bostick's direct involvement with a Pentagon panel charged with shaping military policy on this issue. Although Lt. Gen. Bostick presented the question of homosexuals in the military as if it were about civil rights, it is nothing of the kind. The services must discriminate to function. Those who are too old, too weak or too overweight must be shown the door even when similar actions in the private sector might spark a lawsuit.

Here's my take on this REMF.
This guy is a Wext Point ringknocker. He was groomed and trained to be a staff monkey. Decoration...nothing more. He carries on in that tradition today with this pronouncement.
Re:His RANGER and Airborne tabs - easily explained:
During his summers at West Point troops join the "real Army" for sh!ts and giggles. They come in at E-5 pay and take some Army courses to get "valuable enlisted perspective and experience" during their non-academic off time.
One summer, usually between sophomore & junior year they go to Airborne school and get their jump wings.
Next summer, depending on their motivation, they go down to Georgia and try to "do" RANGER school.

I've seen it quite a few times. My money says thats what this puke did. Look at his duty resume'...no service with Infantry or Airborne Units.
My money also says he received his "Combat Action Badge".NOT CIB, at the O Club while in the rear with the gear in Kuwait. Make him look at 'butch' when he moved over to the Engineer Supply Hdqtrs in Iraq. Although I also am willing to bet his time in Iraq could be measured in hours rather than days or months.

Anyway, thats how I read between the lines of this military resume'.

What new policy? Maybe he refers to proposals?

It would seem that here we see a General promoting a political agenda in the military. When I was in the service politics was NOT pursued. If this continues will we see Generals ordering soldiers to vote for the leftists?

I suspect we see here the results of affirmative action with the recipient paying homage to his master --leftist government...

You make a very good point. There is no new policy, as yet.

As an officer he is openly promoting a political view because if the policy is changed it will be political.

His promotion of this agenda would qualify him for reduction in rank or retirement in the not so old military. I have a hunch he was put up to this by people above his pay grade.

That's an EXCELLENT POINT, and it bears repeating.

Think about it. An army without believing Christians in it is an army with limitless potential for atrocity. They will also have few qualms about turning their guns on Christians.

Limitless potential for atrocity is right. We’ve seen it in recent armies and certainly in the middle of the last century. It is a real possibility that it could get as bad as barbarian armies of centuries ago.

In WWII when I was in basic infantry training at Camp Hood there was big guy know it all who was kind of strange. He would walk the length of the barracks, 2nd floor, to the shower with his towel over his shoulder. Our platoon sgt. told us youngsters to stay clear of him. I never could figure out why he was made platoon standard bearer. However, he could strut and talk. One day in the field during a grenade demo by a Lt. the Lt. asked if anyone wanted to demonstrate how throw/handle a phosphorus grenade. Along with others this guy took the stage. The Lt armed the grenade just before handing it to the guy. Instead of taking the grenade casually from the Lt. he panicked and dropped it right in front of the stand. There was hardly time or room for us to get the h-— away from that grenade. We all came out O.K. as I recall but the big guy made no respect.

I think to be more accurate the SA not SS was full of homosexuals and other perverts at the top level...until SA homosexual in chief Roehm got executed as a result of the Long Knives purge of SA leaders...Hitler knew his traditional old guard Prussian types would never ever tolerate (that word) open faggotry in the German war machine.

Hence Roehm got executed..in prison rather casually

Homosexuality was frowned on by Nazis and could result in serious consequence.

I doubt the Waffen SS were very queer...not meaning to duke it out with you but claiming homosexuals make great soldiers as a group is a canard to me.

As a rule ...with exceptions..they are often effete and slight of physical nature...like women....note I said with exceptions...I have known one homo who liked to fight myself...a boy who called hisself Tammy Joe from Theodore AL...so I'm sure there is some Randy Couture homo out there somewhere

Homosexuals are brutal when it comes to serial killers...usually they hated mom as there was no dad

or it just happens...Dahmer

or as sick priests...like this new Belgium monster...no word of his queerness...barely anyhow...they just call it child abuse...what % of church abuse is man on girl?

no one dare speak of homosexuality’s darkness...not even in the church

Satan must be grinning

The SS was full of gays. Gays are brutal when it comes to being soldiers.

"Inhumane" would be a more appropriate word when describing the SS.

Many hate their dads, and/or moms, and they have no problems taking out their anger on other people, especially if they have the power to do so and feel it’s their duty. and can explain it as just a part of their orders.

Yeah, give them a hairbrush and a blowdryer and they're real terrors.
