I'm sorry, I can't tell if it's ok to excerpt any of it, but basically it's a video with an article about a whole selection of idiots, one a volunteer meter man who got angry and lashed out and a woman and her husband who caught it on video and want to sue (over what damages I cannot imagine).
I cannot disagree.
I agree....In addition, why is the city not paying their parking enforcement people? Volunteers? What's up with that?
Why would *anyone* volunteer to do that? You'd have to have a screw loose.....
You are the only one who thinks there was an assault. So far even the people potentially bringing the case have not mentioned it. I sure hope they don’t read FR.
Yep. They taunted him and had the camera ready to roll.
I don’t know why we have volunteers doing this either, but we do. Maybe we just have an excess of older people here in Delray who need something to do (that is not out of the realm of possibility since our median age is like 105).
I've had an attorney for 10 years. So what? No different than "having" a doctor or a dentist.
Now I’m afraid to comment back to you.... ;)
At the very beginning of the video, the meter-guy pushes the camera into the citizen’s face. The citizen says, “I’ve got this on video”, and the meter-guy says he doesn’t give a damn.
That was assault. Because I recognize it for what it is, you state that I must have a few parking tickets.
No, and I don’t have a grudge against my city’s workers. I do however have a grudge against any city worker that think he can treat members of the public in this manner.
You should too.
It's obvious; the meter man "dissed" them and hurt their feelings. Thats good for a couple hundred thousand of taxpayer dollars any day.
We’ll see what your story is if your wife in accosted by some idiot like this. The guy didn’t get out of his car and threaten the meter-guy. He simply told him he didn’t approve of the way he treated his wife.
So you’re with a guy who commits an assault on camera? Well, okay...
I see no assault either. The meter man is only guilty of hurting feelings which is not against the law.
The three Characters in this story should be Excommunicated from the state of Florida. They are giving our regular(not Normal?) residents a bad Reputation.
Of course, they are “out-of-staters”!
Look at the video again. The first seconds of the video show the meter-guy having pushed the camera back in the face of the citizen. The citizen say, “I have this on video”, due to his shock that the guy would do that. The meter-guy says, I don’t give a damn (or some such).
I am always amazed at the gall of our local govts, who build parking lots, and make public street parking into something that you have to pay for to use. Taxpayers paid to build them, then taxpayers have to pay to use them? Watch that show about Meter tickets, its astonishing how the public is treated! I am shocked that no one has gone “postal” on these thugs.
All of this (including any toll roads) should be banned. Government should own nothing, that should be illegal also, if the people pay for it through taxation, the people own it.
We should be charging government to use it! Not the other way around.
It does not appear that he touches it, it appears he puts his hand in front of it. That is not assault, much as you would clearly like it to be.
Yeah, and some of them don't give a sh*t about their job, just like this idiot said....
At the very beginning of the video, it does appear the city idiot possibly pushed or shoved the guys camera, as the next comment was, "I've got this on video" when the city idiot starts into his rant.
Please watch the opening moments of the video.
The camera has been pushed into the face of the citizen, and the city volunteer is back-peddling to get away from the car and a possible reaction.
LOL!
My lawyer is a cool old dude who would kick MY butt if I acted like the couple did. No way would he take it to court.
They hurt my feelings when they have given me tickets here twice. :( Maybe I should have sued them! Drat, I never thought of it, stupid me, I just paid the tickets...
