If I see any litigation I will post and try to ping you, probably this will die without anything else being in the news.
Brytlea, perhaps you can explain why the guy was canned.
My take on it is that the city didn’t buy his story, and did see some credence to the story against him.
Absent any evidence whatsoever that the citizens did something wrong here, I have no idea whatsoever why you folks are taking the side of the meter-guy here.
If he did what they say he did, and the only evidence we have seems to show the guy out of control, then I don’t see this guy able to be defended here. And if he did this stuff to my family members, I’d be upset about it too.
It seems there’s an anti-litigation aspect to the defense of the meter-guy here. Folks, even if we don’t like litigation, it doesn’t make a guy that has done something wrong right.
That guy in the video, is clearly out of control.
I wasn’t convinced the citizens were going to push the case through court. They were upset and made a stink. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them drop the whole thing. If they don’t, it will become more evident at some point what type of people they truly are. And it could be I’ll lean more toward your way of thinking at some point. Who knows.

Was he "canned"? In the video he says he turned in his resignation.
Actually, if you read my first post (which you probably don’t remember, and I don’t blame you) I think they are all wrong. The husband should not have gone back, and the meter man should have kept his cool and mosied on. I just don’t see an assault (what you and I disagree on—do you think there is any call for litigation minus an assault?)
If he was canned (I thought he quit, but maybe I read it wrong, I’m old) it was probably because the city is trying to do what they can to placate the couple and what do they have to lose? The guy is a volunteer.

I’m sorry, is that in the video (which I don’t want to watch again—I may have missed that). I don’t see it in the story, and maybe I’ve missed that.

There’s some nut in my town that has the city signs dept on speed dial and calls them every day on his way both to and from work to advise of poster signs tacked to telephone poles that have been there for more than 24 hours. (yard sale, lost pet, etc.)
The volunteer resigned after Delray officials received a complaint from the couple.

Ok, thanks from a different article. Thank you from clearing that up. Still, both of these men acted like boobs. The meter man didn’t hold his temper, but this husband is a jerk and I think if I ever see him on the street I’m going to follow him around with my cell phone and call him names and when he finally reacts I’m going to film him with my cell phone. I’m so sick of this behavior, provoke people to anger and then film them. I would never convict on a jury if I didn’t see film of what preceeded it. They should both have to kiss Rosie O’Donnel or something as punishment..
