FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Less than two months before the midterm elections, President Barack Obama is imploring voters to support his party's economic policies, even though he acknowledged that those policies haven't brought about a recovery fast enough for many Americans.
"We stopped the bleeding, stabilized the economy, but the fact of the matter is the pace of improvement has not been where it needs to be,"

Yeah, they stopped the bleeding and then scared the patient into a heart attack. So if you focus on the bleeding, things look improved. But if you focus on the patient’s overall health, it looks like Uncle Sam may be headed back into the ICU before this is all done.
We can improve the odds of survival by replacing the surgical assistants this November and guarantee survival if the chief surgeon is replace in 2012. In the meantime, we need to keep the surgeon as far away from his surgical tools as possible, as he’s a little too knife-happy for the tastes of most Americans.
