I can appreciate your point of view, but the enemy will come after our soldiers no matter what we do here on US soil.
When I first heard of this idea (burning Korans) I thought it was wrong.
Now, I’m not so sure. The muslims in-your-face gesture of trying to build a mosque at ground zero is much worse.
I kinda admire the guy. And he was smart. He totally cooperated with police escorting him away and he totally kept his composure.
I say bravo to him. We burn Korans (a couple of us maybe) they burn people.

Disappointed in Gen Petraeus. It’s like we’ve gotta make the muslims like us, if we do something bad, they will kill our soldiers. Duh. They only thrive on weakness.
And we’ve been very weak under our current leadership.
What these Neanderthals that have been so anxious to decide what I think for me don't get is:
-I support the rights and liberties for any American who thinks burning a Koran will accomplish something. I've never said "don't do it."
-I do NOT support or condone appeasement to the Muslims of any sort whatsoever. I cringe at the pictures of them closing intersections on Madison Avenue in NYC on Friday afternoons with their butts in the air and I disdain the cowardly city officials who allow it.
-I think the idea of a mosque near Ground Zero is abominable.
-I think they should adapt to our culture or get the hell out of our country. I detest any politician who encourages them to ram their backwards culture down our throats.
That being said, I also think the whole Pastor Jones idea was a stupid publicity stunt and I still maintain that the media hype about the event and the potential event itself had the potential for putting our troops and other Americans in the Middle East in increased danger.
That's all I've ever said about it, but I get these wild-eyed, hyperbolic drama queens foaming at the mouth, slinging mindless insults, accusing me of appeasing the Muslims, being pro-jihadi and even of treason.
It's a shame that most of the Keyboard Kommandos around here apparently have IQs that don't quite make it out of double digits.

I have just finished reading this entire thread up to comment 227.
This man is to me a...HERO...he excersied his freedom of speech with tremendous courage, as far as could tell from this video he was all alone. I was thinking if only I could have been there I would have helped him. I would have linked arms with him as he was escorted by the police. I’m sure many true conservatives thought the same thing, how that we all could have surrounded this man and protected his rights and encouraged his knowledge of what freedom is really all about.
I am encouraged by all the freeper comments in support of this man. Not only did he display great courage, he also displayed great wisdom in not responding to the crowd or the press. His non response drove the crowd and media out of their minds.
For those freepers who responded to this HERO in the negative you are phony baloney, yellow banana, good time, liberals claiming to be conservative. You have let your mask fall, you have uncovered your facade. I am surprised there are so many of you on FR.

No. I think it is YOU who needs to learn more, a lot more, about this enemy...about the war on terror. You don’t have a corner on the market on hatred for the terrorists so don’t patronize me.
No one is saying that our rage at 9-11 is to go un dealt with...But right now our country has decided NOT to carpet bomb Afghanistan. And so, I would listen to Petreus as HE, not hysterics on Fr, is in charge of the safety of our troops.
I am also not saying that all this Koran burning/not burning has not been a ‘teachable moment” about Islam, in or out of this country and for that, that is a positive.

I don’t think they arrested him. They just moved him out of the area.
