In a loud voice, looney-toons style, "DON'T BURN THAT KORAN... THER'LL BE HELL TO PAY!" Oh really... some thoughts on that...
When the senator from Utah proclaimed, "This war is lost", did any military general spout off, "hey this kind of talk could get our soldiers killed"?
When John Kerry claimed "our soldiers were terrorizing women and children in the dead of night", did any military spokesman speak with any concern, that this kind of talk may increase the dangers for our military.
When John Mertha said our marines murdered in cold blood, did any military brass denounce his claim as hurtful to our military effort.
The answer of course is HELL NO!
May I suggest to you that burning the Koran will do two things. First, it will show that the left, and increasingly, many on the right, are not as into free speech as they proclaim. What ever happened to that wonderful, daringly brave saying, "I may not agree with what you're saying, but I'll defend to the death, your right to say it" well, maybe not so much, "not when death is on the line" (to borrow a phrase from the Prince's Bride).
Two, it will prove that terrorism has had its desired effect. Islam is now officially a state protected religion. No other religion has ever enjoyed such sway over any human society, (I could be wrong historically, but not currently). What the hell... I want some of that... As a christian, I get no respect, none from the left, not much from the right, and down right hostility from everywhere else. Why? Because I'm not out there cutting off heads, blowing up buildings, or otherwise killing by whatever means will instill the greatest terror.
Do I think that the burning of the Koran is an efficacious way of combating an enemy, hell bent on our destruction... I dunno, I'm beginning to wonder. When I first heard of it, I thought, that's stupid. Nevertheless, I have also thought, at some points in the past, that I might like to burn a Koran, if for no other reason than to say, "I will not fear you and you will not creep my world". Maybe, it has more to do with individual courageousness than anything else.
I don't know pastor Jones, he doesn't look all that intelligent, and I'd probably never attend his church... but after all the attention he is getting, being goaded by David P., Hannity, and the President (there he goes again), I say, go ahead, burn that damn book. It's your right! If soldiers can fight and die while our politicians enjoy the right to impugn them and their actions, then surely, by all rights, this man's action is no less a protected right... and I'll bet many in the military (particularly of the enlisted ranks) are proud to fight for this man's rights. " I may not agree with what you say..." BS. God Bless and Protect You Pastor... We may not wish to have been dragged into this, but now that its upon us, I'm standing with this pastor.
Careful with that ax, Eugene................
Instead, put it in a jar of urine and demand federal funding.
If you envy Islam you at best don't understand Christianity very well.
I am having cookout this Saturday. My fire starter for the charcoal will be a copy of the koran.
L.O.L.....liberals have no balls.
Damn the torpedoes
I did not read that as envy. Simply lamenting on the facts.
US Army Burned Bibles in Afghanistan
It would be greener and more carbon neutral to recycle them.
I'm thinking shredding them and using them as animal bedding in pig sties or maybe re-pulping them and turning them into bathroom tissue...
You don’t understand tongue-and-cheek my friend...
Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Ball!
If it’s ok to burn the Flag then it’s ok to burn the Koran. Muslims are great at sticking the needle in our eye. They are not so great at getting poked back.
One other point. Has anyone asked the good iman Rouf what he thinks of the Koran book burning? I’m sure the hypocrite will be against it, but just wondering if we have it on tape...
Burning evil books is as Christian as apple pie ~
Do you sincerely believe that this action is something that God would lead a pastor to do to comply with the great commission? Bear in in mind that if Rev. Dimwit burns the korans in this country, muslims are likely to burn your fellow Christians (again) in their countries.
You have a right to yell 'fire' in a theater, but there can be consequences.
You are correct:
Um, that would be tongue-in-cheek, our friend...
