????
I thought they did own the property.
Apparently they do not have title to the entire property, and what they do “own” isn’t paid for.
Some of it is leased from Con Edison, or some other local utility/government authority, I believe.
The straw that broke the camels back, perhaps?
this is why I suspect that Terry Jones is secretly getting a payoff from George Soros somehow. He is single-handedly feeding the narrative that all of us who oppose this mosque are bigoted kooks.
What’s most interesting about what this article is talking about is that this mosque thing is working in conjunction with the Tea Party movement to show people they can move the discussion without permission from the government or the pundits.
It’s showing us that after decades of HEARING it, we are making the “You have a voice in this government!” cliches (which have NOT been true for decades) mean something.
And ironically, it’s not the noisy leftists who are leading this “people’s” revolt, and that scares the hell out of them.
Oh but the American taxpayers via the state department recently helped fund a fund raising trip abroad for one of the mooselimb scum bags in question IIRC.
There is no need to feel shy or embarrassed when you say “no” to submission to Islam. We will not submit. Not now, not ever.
I know this would never, ever happen in an Obama administration, but if Obama told an atheist group not to protest against Christians because they are a violent bunch who will retaliate with bloodshed, I would protest his characterization vigorously.
Interesting that Muslims haven't taken offense to his implication that they are such a problem when it comes to savagery.
That whole "speaking truth to power" thing is no fun when the Leftists are up in the castle and the Conservatives are carrying pitchforks and torches.
This is also the beginning of more commentators writing and saying the same thing as McCarthy.
Americans are as fed up with the Muslim Religion of Peace mantra as they are fed up with the Illegal Immigrant has rights mantra.
Great essay, other than this. Because if the "bad" Muslims are deely rooted in Islamic scripture, how can the "good" Muslims be true to their scripture and remain Muslim? Wouldn't their transformation of their faith, in effect, make it something other than Islam?
We reject “The Deal”.
The Deal says that if we tippy-toe around Muslim sensibilities and don’t get in their way as they sow the seeds of our eventual destruction, they will calm down and give us a little, temporary peace.
But that is not really true. If we accept this outrage, there will be some new, even more outrageous, provocation soon to follow. They will always take offense and resort to violence, because that is simply what they do.
And at every stage, we will be told that if submit to this one small thing, everything will be fine. But that is a lie, and it always has been.
Yep, what I want to know is when we can move from its OK to oppose Islam as a facist government to get the hell out of our country and don’t come back..

Yes.
Obviously, there is still some pussyfooting going on here.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Very good point!
Too bad the author missed that.....and we need to ask the question is “Can one be a good Muslim and a good US citizen?”
That my friend, is the money line.

you can pretty much say this about moderates in any religion, be it judaism or christianity. the difference is that the orthodox or most conservative practitioners of those 2 relgions aren’t concerned with ruling anyone’s lives but their own, nor with wars, nor with mass murder, etc.
I agree - and the people are waking up.
