Cup of Serenity would like to apologize to TraidMommies, and to all breastfeeding mothers for the incident in our store yesterday. We are in full support of the planned nurse-in and will also support a "Breastfeeding Friday," and breastfeeding at anytime. We hope to turn our mistake into a way to help mothers everywhe...
See, that is where they are wrong. At home, don’t cover. But in view of others that are not related to you, please show modesty.
I just couldn’t nurse in public without a cover. Sorry, but the only ones who see my boobies are Me,my children, my husband and my doctor. My husband would be MORTIFIED if we were out in public and I nursed without cover.
Of course none were Muslim. They aren’t allowed out in public without guards, would never be able to drink coffee( infidel coffee at that) under a head-bag, and besides...they don’t feed their babies in public. BLOW THEM UP, yes, feed them, no.
They think the very idea that modesty should apply is hateful and criminal.
LOL!!
You gave the definition. They don't have to be exactly equivalent to fit your definition. Further, you might think they're totally different, but many others would be equally offended by either.
LOL! I love FReerepublic!
How right you are! My three children are all grown adults now, but I sincerely cannot imagine pulling this sort of thing at any time in my life. My children were breastfed in private, for me and my comfort. These crazy “activists” are doing themselves and their babies harm by agitating. The milk runs best in a quiet, serene atmosphere(aka privacy). Any idiot can tell you that!

This is the same group who use "runner's" strollers in the middle of the hilly, curvy, low-visibility main road, where SUVs go 30-35 mph, instead of using the sidewalks, where infants thrust in front in a stroller would be safer.
A-holes.
Yes, because public urination leaves behind a smelly mess, and public breastfeeding..... offends the sensibilities of idiots.
Did the patrons of the cafe have the right to not be offended by her publicly breastfeeding?
I question the mentality of anybody offended by modest breastfeeding in public. They are DISTURBED!
OMG! A baby is SUCKING on her NIPPLES!!! Get the religious police! Put her in a burkah!!!
So it's ok for total strangers to see "the little head" for less than a second in the coffee shop?
A nipple, pulled out modestly and put into the mouth of a hungry infant - is exactly the same as a guy pulling his penis out!
Wow. Logic! Not even close.
No, but the cafe owner had the right to tell her to cover it up or leave ....private property and all that silly stuff....She can whip them out all day at the town hall for all I care - see what happens then I guess....
Back to the public urination equivalency thing. It's cultural and another "in your face" thing that those who have recently reproduced (or in some cases not so recently) do to bring attention to the fact that their bodies worked they way evolution designed them to. So they dropped out a kid - so what? Big deal. Just don't push it in everyone's face.

And I question the "mentality" (whatever you meant by that) of whoever thinks breastfeeding in public should not be considered offensive. Further Frenchmen question the "mentality" of anyone offended by public urination.
When the child says, in perfect grammar, “Hey mom, this breast is getting a little low, could you whip out the other one for a while?” then you know it’s time to wean that kid and let him start drinking juice or something out of a cup.
You keep using that word ‘modest’. I assure you, my inlaw is mortally offended by the very concept. No blankie, no special shirt, no nothing. Whips it all the way out anywhere at all. The comments on the FB page show similar mentality. Those girls just ain’t right.
Feeding a hungry baby and relieving your bladder are equivalent needs, neither with a convenient private place provided to engage in it.
Breastfeeding and flinging urine about in a public place are both equally disgusting.
Yep. You've got it exactly correct. Both of these are private bodily functions and should be done in private. Likewise changing a baby's diaper should be done in a private location. No one needs to see any part of a woman's body that normally would be covered. Going topless in a non-topless restaurant is inappropriate.
Note however that a "hooter hider" (as a previsou poster described it) solves the problem entirely. The mother reminas modest, the child gets fed, no one is forced to see what they don't want to see.
The mother could have covered up and all would be well.
I also agree with the events at the mall (post 6 I think). I figure if the woman chooses to display all for any purpose, I can take and post all the pictures I want. It's another win-win solution. She gets to breast feed in public and millions of internet pervs get to enjoy the sight.
LOL - I agree! Or he starts ordering cheeseburgers.
Equating tasteful consideration for others with religious oppression? That's also in poor taste.
News flash: a nipple is connected to a female reproductive gland.
This just in: a woman is not a man. Women have more reproductive glands than men.
