Cup of Serenity would like to apologize to TraidMommies, and to all breastfeeding mothers for the incident in our store yesterday. We are in full support of the planned nurse-in and will also support a "Breastfeeding Friday," and breastfeeding at anytime. We hope to turn our mistake into a way to help mothers everywhe...
Go over to the FB page.
The comments are about how it is Illegal to tell a woman to cover.
Sorry. Whoever made that law set businesses up for lawsuits.

Many natural functions are best done with a large dose of modesty.
Had an woman about 10 years ago in the neighborhood that would sit with a full breast exposed everywhere she went, just in case her 3 year old needed a top off.
I always felt like I should just take a wiz while talking to her, just to see what here response would be.
Most women are quite modest, and you might actually see nipple for less than a second before it is given to an appreciative baby (if you are looking).
This is a natural and, formerly, ubiquitous act.
How disturbed does your psyche have to be before you think this is an act that the participants should be ashamed of, the sight of which offends you?
You misinterpreted my post. See post 6.
Are you in Virginia? That might have been my rel.
A little modesty goes a long way.
Wonder if she's also a member of the "diaper changing on the coffee shop table" forum.
Many years ago I went to a pizza place called "Everybody's" with some geek friends. We were treated to the sight of a breastfeeding "mommie" who after feeding her get proceeded to change its diaper right on the table. Repulsive.
>>My grandfather relates that when he was a kid, you saw women nursing in public all the time and no one thought anything of it.<<
Well, maybe it was where he lived. My FIL nearly blew a gasket the day we all went out to eat and there was a lady breastfeeding. She was covered and all of us told him that she could have been exposed so he just looked away. He explained that most men in his group “hate to see that”. He was born in 1921.
My Dad, who was born in 1929, had many a discussion with my sisters about how he was uncomfortable with women breastfeeding. Both of them, and friends who came over, would be shown a bedroom to nurse.
And in fact, my Grandmother in law even stated that nursing disgusted her. She bottle fed her kids as all women of class did. I found that pretty amusing of the old woman who was 97 at the time.
As for it being our culture, well yes, it is. America is a pretty nice place.
I agree. We had one in our clan who had to talk it over with her little boy stopping the breastfeeding so he would be more ready for kindergarten. Eww!
I’m in the same boat, but I don’t know any mom that goes out in public without a cover handy!
I always use a cover, but even I was once approached by an older woman who told me it was disqusting I would bf in a public place. I guess just knowing what was going on under the hooter hider just bothers some people!
>>Most women are quite modest, and you might actually see nipple for less than a second before it is given to an appreciative baby (if you are looking).<<
The FB page says that she was asked to be discreet and didn’t like that because it is illegal to ask her to cover.
Yes we need to see more natural acts in public like the French tradition of men urinating in public. This is also a natural and (at least in France) a ubiquitous act.
>>but even I was once approached by an older woman who told me it was disqusting I would bf in a public place.<<
Now that’s just wrong!
I read the comments on the Facebook page, and the militant nursies are screaming what an insult it is even to be asked to use one. Oh, how DARE you request such a thing? What a child-hater and mother-hater you are.
Feeding a hungry baby and relieving your bladder are equivalent needs, neither with a convenient private place provided to engage in it.
Breastfeeding and flinging urine about in a public place are both equally disgusting.
NOT EVEN CLOSE.
So even if this woman is a DD and bursting with on-time production, it's OK to see the bottom of the globe, all pasty from no sunlight and covered with blue veins?
No thanks.
If they don’t require a cover ... they’ll have to charge a cover.
Its breastfeeding Friday at the coffe shop. Bring ones!!

Spounds like you’re hoping for a job in the FDA? ;)
