Mark Kirk is a total RINO.

No wonder McCain loves him.

Republicans and conservatives have wanted the line item veto for years.

Yet Kirk elects to propose such a thing during the first two years of the Marxist's reign.

EPIC FAIL.

Giving Obama line item veto power makes about as much sense as having a fox guard the hen house.

We don’t want a balanced budget. We want one with spending limited to a small, fixed percentage of GDP. When bad policy hurts the economy, the politicians get a cut in their resources.

To veto “excess” spending, doesn’t the One need an actual budget to define what is excess?

Has Congress passed a real budget yet?

The Line Item Veto has been a Republican idea and was included in the Contract for America.

It was a good idea in 1994 and is a good idea today, no matter who is president.

How can you pass a law that applies only to presidents of your party and not the other one?

Not 100% but I think I recall (always risky) that the whole line item thing was unconstitutional and therefore out of the question......well, not that the current crowd really cares about stuff like that...

Conservatives really need to encourage a veto-proof majority of conservative Congresspersons for ‘11 and beyond, so that Obama’s powers are profoundly limited!

Yeah!

Forget about that silly Constitution and the whole separation of powers thing. It's so old-fashioned!

Give the POTUS control over EVERYTHING!

Line item veto for the president was made unconstitutional via the SCOTUS: Their rational for refusing it was that without everything that is in the budget, it may not have been passed and the president takes it as it is and signed or rejects as whole...
