Incumbent Lisa Murkowski has conceded to challenger Joe Miller in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.

Speaking to reporters at her campaign headquarters in Anchorage, Murkowski said "based on where we are right now, I don't see a scenario where the primary will turn out in my favor."

The concession come after a day of counting absentee ballots in which Murkowski gained little ground on Miller, the Fairbanks attorney backed by former Gov. Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express.

Murkowski trailed Miller by 1,668 votes after last Tuesday primary. Election officials began counting absentee and other outstanding ballots today. Murkowski made slight gains, but as of 6 p.m. was still nearly 1,500 votes behind.

Woo-hoo! I am glad Murkowski didn’t push it too far. I would have waited this long too if I were her. I am almost positive she will do the right thing and fully lend her support to the Miller campaign.

Sarah just keeps racing around the Monopoly board, picking up $200 for passing “go” and IOUs.

It should be interesting when she keynotes the Iowa GOP’s Reagan Dinner next month.

"Murkowski made slight gains, but as of 6 p.m. was still nearly 1,500 votes behind."

Interesting that she threw in the towel when the race was that close.

My radar is pinging me to the possibility that something was about to break in the story concerning vote tampering by that RNC operative.

Did the chief RINOs in the party see that this was about to blow up, and tell Lisa to concede?

Suspicions...
