The intersection of Independence Avenue and 17th street was a crossroads of expressions and participants from both events came together.
As one group of black women chanted "Yes we did and get over it," those part of the Glenn Beck rally clapped and passed out Restore the Honor bottles of water.
But Brett Cummings of Gordon Ga wasn't happy. "Look at the statement if we had all come together as one." Katheryn Travis who came to Beck Rally from Knoxville Tenn was almost in tears. "Dr King wanted all of us to come together. We have to believe that."

When the Sharpton rally reached the mall, most of the crowd from Beck's rally had begun to disperse. Those remaining, mostly smiled politely. "We love Obama! We like Obama!" those in Sharpton's rally yelled.
"Glen Beck, we're going to show you. We ain't going to let Glenn Beck turn us around," one man shouted into a mega phone. The crowd followed him. A few people took photos as they chanted and walked down Constitution Avenue. "We need to be shouting 'we are America,'" said one woman in Sharpton's rally. "See all those tea baggers." The two crowds mostly gawked at each other and smiled.

The left always uses the canard that very few blacks attend such events - thus they must be racist. These events are open to everyone - it’s the majority of blacks that CHOOSE not to attend.

The only post-rally pic I could find is the one I already posted. But, in watching lots of video online and on CSPAN of people leaving the area, it can be clearly seen that there is absolutely NO trash on the ground and grass where people are walking. Am looking around for more pics.

16 buses from Pittsburgh (It's on the FR front page) and at least 3 from nearby Indiana county. There were many more from W PA who wnated to go but coudn't.

The thing about the buses from W.PA is that this is DEEP BLUE territory, but even with that people here are awakening. There have been several well attended Tea Parties here. One had 7-8 thousand.

I've been to all but one and missed that because of health and weather...sigh.

Well I was at the gym and then I went grocery shopping so I missed the rally on CSPAN. I hope they will show a replay on CSPAN sometime. I’d like to hear what Palin said.

She said that in the past organizers of large rallies have bought distributed rail passes in advance, but that apparently was not common this time.

Imagine having to buy your own rail pass instead of spending someone else's money.
