Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.s niece and one of Glenn Becks Restoring Honor rallys keynote speakers, said if her uncle were alive today, hed choose to attend the Aug. 28 rally that demonstrates the spirit of love and unity and peace.
The which rally would Martin Luther King, Jr., attend debate entered the discussion of Becks Restoring Honor rally versus the Reclaim the Dream rally the Rev. Al Sharpton and his National Action Network (NAN) are putting after NAACP President Ben Jealous said if Martin Luther King, Jr., was still alive today, hed be attending the NAN rally on Aug. 28 and not Becks.
Alveda King is the only member of Martin Luther King, Jr.s family to commit to speak at either rally but the Hilary Shelton of the NAACP said the NAACP and NAN have reached out to Martin Luther King, Jr.s daughter, Bernice King, to speak at their rally. Shelton said Bernice King hasnt responded to them and she did not return voicemails to The Daily Caller seeking comment on her position.

I admire and respect Alveda King. But I think she places too much confidence in Glenn Beck.
I do not think MLK would give Beck the time of day.
I’m not so sure.
Philosophically, perhaps. But politically, Dr. King was not so pure.
Sadly, we’ll never know.
Any reports of exploding heads?
The media is being awfully quiet about her.
If a hypothetical confrontation ensues, I would love to see the looks on the NBP when or if Alveda grabbed Shabazzidiot by the ear like a child...... =.=
If the majority of blacks could open their eyes to that simple fact and instead of submitting to peer pressure race relations and their lives could start changing for the better.
You can just hear the teeth-gritting across the nation when he spends an hour exposing another section of the communist/terrorist/muslim/terrorist/etc. network surrounding Obama, then he says "... someone should warn the president. He might be in danger." Say what???
Booker T. Washington wrote about this a hundred years ago:
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do do not want to lose their jobs.”
You are absolutely right Alveda, MLK would certainly have approved of Glen Beck. He’s been teaching history that has been lost
I heard him say that. It was sarcasm.
Maryland PING!
I don’t agree. Not at all.
Beck marched w/ Sharpton opposing rap music even though he found himself in wonderment that he was marching w/ someone he disagreed with about almost everything.
I’d like a mural of that on my garage door for the neighbors.
