Picking up on a nugget (my tweet) surprisingly included in a Wednesday Boston Globe article, on Thursday night FNCs Bret Baier reported in his Grapevine segment: President Bush is apparently more popular than President Obama on Martha's Vineyard at least when it comes to clothing. Baier relayed the day the First Family arrived on the Massachusetts island:
When the First Family vacationed there last year, Obama-themed trinkets were flying off the shelves. Now, the owner of a store called the Locker Room says this summer's best-selling shirt features Mr. Bush. And even Democrats are buying it. It reads: Miss Me Yet? How's that Hopey-Changey Thing Working Out for Ya?
In an August 18 Globe story, Vineyard buzzes less for Obamas second visit, Milton J. Valencia reported on the Oak Bluffs store:
...One barometer of the plunge in excitement has been the sale of Obama-themed T-shirts, which designers had been banking on after the craze of last year. Clothing labeled with the presidents name sold by the thousands, helping to salvage a tough economic year for the island. But this years T-shirt sales are much less brisk, merchants say.
Last year, Obama gave you goose bumps, but I dont think youre going to see that this year, said Alex McCluskey, co-owner of the Locker Room, who sold more than 4,000 I vacationed with Obama T-shirts last year. But so far this year, he said, his hot item is T-shirts of former President Bush asking, Miss me yet?...
This reminds me a lot of when I vote most of the time .... hold your nose and vote ... and hold your nose and buy a T-shirt.
Jeez, relax--what he was saying was perfectly accurate as a prelude to talking about how well the Bush shirts he's got are selling.
Looking forward to the t-shirt saying “I was present at mac daddies trial and ate a triple decker hamburger and drank a beer, best fun I have ever had”.
has anyone actually seen machete machelle on this vacay?
i certainly haven’t not by any press pics
she’s laying low for fear of more bad press y’all are only seeing daddy & the keeds

The dress threw me off. She needs a waist belt to make it hers! lol
“He Holds an ice cream cone like it was a tampon”
Kind of like how John F’n Kerry held a Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

Sorry for the trifecta!
"KICK ME!"
“Heck, I even rather we have President Hilary!”
I don’t feel that way but a lot do. In my home county, Hillary beat Obama 88-10 in the primary. Yes, she won by 78 POINTS!!!! Obama was despised then and he’s even more despised now. This is a Democrat-dominated county that I live in but no one, I mean no one, pipes up and says “what a great job our president is doing.” If I were in the Obama camp I would be worried, very worried, about 2010 and 2012. This is a complete train wreck. The train is off the tracks and the locomotive is on fire.
Heck old gaffe himself Joe Biden would be an upgrade to the Oval Orifice.
I was not a GWB fan ..he was too republican liberal for me.. so I would not mind Clinton back WITH A REPUBLICAN House and Senate :)
yes, i agree this past 2 years has been the perfect storm.
absolutely horrible.
