Democrats again used former President George W. Bush as a foe in their latest TV ad campaign, driving home the point Republicans would restore policies that helped create the economic downturn.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) released a new cable ad Friday that harped on their campaign message that the November midterm elections will be a choice between Democratic policies that will bring the country out of the recession versus Republican policies that helped created it.
No Republican is used in the ad aside from Bush -- who is shown saying "you can fool me but you can't get fooled again."
Debate has swirled whether or not using Bush as a campaign foil will work for Democrats in the 2010 cycle, two years after Bush left office.
Republicans -- especially those who worked in the Bush administration -- have said it is a tired argument that will not resonate with voters.
But many Democrats have countered, saying that using Bush will give voters a clearer idea of what they are voting for if they back Republicans in the fall. The DNC said the ad will air on national cable networks.
A Democratic official who released the ad said that "the ad -- 'Big Choices' -- amplifies the choice voters are going to face this fall between Democrats who have pulled the country out of the ditch and Bush Republican era policies which put us there."
The spot emphasizes that Democrats favor "investing" in manufacturing, education, a "clean energy" economy and want to put Main Street ahead of Wall Street.

The RNC should ask permission to run the ad themselves.
One thing to remember is that unemployment rates are lagging economic indicators, that is, they are good beyond the point where things are going bad and they remain bad beyond the point where things are turning up. This is precisely the kind of Pretzel Logic opportunity Dem/Progs specialize in, mostly because it utterly confuses the ordinary person, which always works to their advantage.
I think the Pubbies are not biting on this because they realize that it could end up being a rhetorical trap.
You know what could work? There’s that unemployment graphic that shows unemployment rates by county across the US. Just put a label above the chart showing which party is in charge of Congress for each month, maybe in red for the Pubbies and then changing to blue for the Dems. That might open a few eyes.
Pathetic losers.
Because, despite the fact that it has been a colossal failure everywhere it has been tried, Dems (in particular) and politicians (in general) are arrogant and believe that they can do it better.
What they overlook is that socialism completely ignores human nature. People need to own things and be in command of their own destinies. We define ourselves by what we have and what we do. These attributes are sources of pride that we express our individuality and uniqueness with. It is also the means by which we express the fruits of our labor. Socialism ignores ALL of these things and focuses solely on trying to make all people the same.
Unfortunately for the socialists, that's just not how God planned things and it's why it doesn't and will never work!!
I think a lot of people would love to return to the Bush days.

He details everything they did. Horrifying and they should have gone to jail for it.

That sums it up perfectly, I say.
“The Democrats were in charge of congress since 2006, the Democrats were the ones that drove the economy into a ditch. When the Republicans were swept from office in 2006 the economy was doing great and the unemployment rate was under 5%.”
They need to bring back the famous Reagan question, “Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?”
Great strategery rats. Guess when your ashamed of your “accomplishments” you have to revert back to Plan A of the ‘08 campaign. Pathetic!
Very sad, but true. This feels like it did when Clintoon was in office and he and his wife had somewhere between 900 and 1200 confidential FBI files in the WH - the Repubs let him get away with almost anything out of fear.
It will be fun to remind the Democrats of their Bush-bashing after they lose in November.
Given the polling in some areas that have Bush above Obama and the “Miss me yet” T-Shirts selling like they are they may want to rethink that approach.
