Yep, and that spin is likely to be that the Obozo admin now has more people to “employ” with all that “stimulus” money they haven’t yet spent.

If this is recovery (or whatever the actual term was) summer, I’d sure hate to see the Democrats idea of a melt-down. Oh yes, full employment under a Conservative. Nevermind... ;^)

The Labor Department said Thursday that initial claims for jobless benefits rose by 12,000 last week to 500,000, the fourth increase in the past five weeks. Can either of you explain this to me. We see these stories every month. 1st time jobless claims come in between 434,000 and 500,000. Then you seem new job numbers that show less then 200,000 new jobs being created. Does this mean there is net job loss still going on in the overall economy? How is it possible to claim "jobs created" when the jobs created number is way way smaller then the jobs lost number?

I feel obtuse for asking this question, but here it goes.
Is the 500K number a running aggregate? Or is that a NEW 500K piled on top of already un-employed?
In other words, are they playing with numbers? I am having a hard time understanding just what is being reported here.
