I don't think many people see it that way anymore. It's just all over, responsible people of all ages, all education levels, all economic groups, just can't find jobs.
Until the factories in crumbling cities start manufacturing things again, there's no real solution to the problem. It has to start with jobs, inner city manufacturing jobs, and build from the ground up. And I don't mean federally subsidized situations, which take as much out of the economy through taxation as they bring in....and then distribute it to the people not in the greatest need.

We are still very dependant on US economy. When the strong german growth in Q2 was announced, the stocks almost did not move. German DAX even closed in red that day. But today, in a few seconds, stocks move from green to red once the bad figure was known.

Well that hasn't happened since the 1970's. I live in Pittsburgh and believe me we know about rust belt industries. They are never coming back sans some catastrophe in China. The American economic engine would absolutely roar if we just cut taxes and regulations to the bone. Forgiegn investment would flood into the country. Yeah, sounds great doesn’t it? I showed this to my Wife last night and she says “So what? He’s working while he’s on Vacation”. (!?!?!) I just looked at her and rolled my eyes....She’s Blue and I’m Red and I’m the one on Unemployment. She’s been disabled since 1995 and has a hard time seeing things my way, since she’s getting SSDI, Private disability and Medicare. I just keep hoping the “O” nightmare will end quicker than 800+ days...
