WEST POINT — Cadet Katie Miller said she couldn't listen to her comrades toss around the word "fag" anymore, and making up stories about fictional boyfriends was driving her crazy.
So Miller, a lesbian who ranks No. 9 in her class of future Army leaders, stepped out the closet last weekend and quit West Point.
"I thought I would have the strength to re-closet myself," said Miller, who was openly gay to her family and friends in high school. "I completely underestimated the personal toll it would have on me.

I actually don't know why lesbians ever aligned themselves with gay men. The whole "gay community" thing has only worked to their disadvantage. It's a boys party, and the concerns of the male gay community (i.e., how many men can I screw in the club bathroom tonight) are not the same. Lesbians have a very low HIV risk, lower even than the straight community.
I live in West Hollywood, basically in Boystown (name is a clue right there: gay men dominate the "gay community" and women are just as neglible in importance as they are in the straight community. Moreso, really, as the men have no use for them at all.) But anyway, I have checked out the gay bars (you'd wonder why a Freeper would do that, but I'm just big on exploring what's around me. I'm naturally curious.) The male gay bars are basically salacious bordellos with stuff going on in the restrooms that make it impossible to take a pee. The one lesbian bar is this quiet little hole in the wall with the most reserved, discreet atmosphere I've ever seen in a bar.
It's been a couple years since I checked these places out (my curiosity is pretty easily satisfied) but I was left with the opinion that Florence King is right about lesbians: gay men and gay women are as different from each other as straight men and straight women, and I can see why the Bible never actually mentions anything about lesbianism (far as I know) while actively speaking about male homosexuality. Lesbians really do seem to have been a different breed, although now they are so brainwashed they're about as useless as the gay guys. It's a pity. They shouldn't have thrown their lot in with a bunch of men who act like 13 year old girls.
I suspect that her real mental disorder is incipient liberalism. Back when I was young, lesbians could handle it. They just smirked to themselves and thought "you have no idea." Then they went and worked on their crane quals.

Sorry, but the U.S. Military is full of perverts and deviants. Drop a bunch of 18-22 year old males into foreign countries and oh my the trouble they find.
It is what it is. But these guys are not a bunch of boy scouts and have sexual practices that would make most civilians blanch. Sorry to burst your bubble but when I was in the Army I had folks showing me pictures of their naked wives. R&R was hookers and booze. I didn't understand it then. I don't understand it now. Just don't kid yourself.

Jeez, the level of ignorance and downright stupidity on this thread is unbelievable. I agree that if she can’t handle homophobic taunts, she sure as hell can’t handle the stress of war. But really, isn’t it about time for some of you to grow up and out of your own sexual insecurities?
No mature adult who is secure in his own sexuality cares what other adults do in their bedrooms. The fact that some of you are so threatened speaks a lot more about you than it does about this girl who, to this point, was able to place in the Top 10 of her class in one of the toughest institutions in America.
