Jack Kingston: Sarah Palin should ‘butt out’ of state races
AJC ^ | 8/11/10 | Jim Galloway

Posted on 08/11/2010 11:59:32 AM PDT by pissant

On “America’s Morning News” – a web-based talk show sponsored by Human Events – U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston was drawn into a discussion of Georgia’s Republican runoff for governor.

Would you have preferred that Sarah Palin butt out of it, Kingston was asked? “I wish she will,” Kingston said. But never mind the grammar – it was live radio. He continued:

“Because what’s she’s doing is dividing the Republican party at a time when we don’t need to be divided.

“Because in a case like this, really what people were saying – ‘Well, she’s endorsing Karen Handel because she’s a woman.’ [Palin] got up on stage on Monday and said, ‘I’m not doing it because she’s a woman – although she is a sister.’ You know — wink, wink.

“And I understand that. But what it does is, it makes Republicans say, well, maybe we do need to rethink Karen Han – I mean, Sarah Palin, as somebody who does shoot from the hip a little bit too much. Because I think Karen Handel is a very decent candidate, but she’s clearly the more moderate person in the race….”

Sarah Palin is the “winnowing fork”,

separating the wheat from the chaff.

And the chaff is pissed.

Come on, pissant.

It's not like she's in any danger of pulling Duncan Hunter-like numbers or anything.

Besides, it'll give you another excuse to vote third party if she wins the nomination!

As far as I am concerned Sarah can put her butt or anything else anywhere she wants to.

“Im getting a little pissed off with people labeling 95% conservative candidates as RINO’s”

Among the people listed as “RINOs” by the creator of this therad are such Liberal Icons as Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin.

The word has lost its meaning when used by many folks here.

Oh yes you do need to be divided. We are weeding out the RINOs. Perhaps you have been sleeping under a rock!

Again - if seeing what Obama and the far left are capable of is not enough motivation enough to get behind whoever can realistically beat them in 2010, then we deserve to lose.

Well, he cosponsored Steve King’s bill to repeal and kill it dead, while the GOP ‘leadership’ hemmed and hawed and waited to the politically correct ‘repeal and replace’ bill.

If I had a dollar for every time I have heard “we can deal with the rest later” from republicans I would be rich until obama took it from me. If what we elect is going to cut deals with the liberals/communists and stab us in the back on even core issues and do the same-ole, same-ole they did from 2001-2007, we are screwed royally.

The way to get rid of the RINO’s is exactly what Palin is doing, shinning the light of truth on them in the primaries and they are losing and now they are bitching about being exposed for what they are liberals.

I have always heard, primary vote the RINO’s out to keep the party intact. Now it’s happening and we still are getting reamed by the establishment republicans. Some things never change. If you can’t primary out the RINO’s they the GOP is going to become the new Whig Party and sale off into the oblivion at some point, IF the country is still around.

I think that will happen. I hope we don’t get a replay with a lineup of candidates that are horrible this time.

It will get ugly at primary time, but getting rid of that thing in the WH will unite people.

I’ve voted 3rd party twice in 30 some years of voting. And none recently.

Yes, I agree.

BTW, thanks for your correct spelling of “its”.

Yeah, just Palin should stay out. Not Romney, Newt or the Huckster, all of whom stuck their noses in there too. Sick.

Let's see:

Sarah Palin doesn't really have a "job" to do right now, so she is free to devote as much of her free time as she'd like to supporting selected candidates - but she's not supposed to butt into state's business...???

Obama however supposedly has a job - RUNNING THE DAMNED COUNTRY!!! But it's just so awesome when he jets around the country (on our nickle) to prop up a bunch of tax fattened hyenas...

The Republican party is very divided. On the one hand, you have Tea Party Conservatives. Sarah Palin understands them. On the other hand, you have Country Club Republicans who enjoy being the political elite and enjoy making deals with Liberal Democrats. Sarah Palin helps people see this divide clearly. The Elitists don't appreciate her activity.

You have it exactly opposite in the Georgia race. Karen Handel was the darling of the "Country Club Republicans" -- which makes Sarah's endorsement very curious. Palin interfered in a distant primary about which she knew little, and ticked off half the GOP voters who supported the most conservative candidate. Sarah has the courage to speak, but apparently lacks the wisdom to know when to keep silent.

Romney was in there too? Newt makes sense, it’s his state.
