Reporters with offices in the Maryland State House Tuesday were escorted from the building and tourists turned away so that First Lady Michelle Obama and daughter Sasha can tour the historic Annapolis building in private.
Police also cleared 50 bystanders from a public square and then moved them even further away -- to a roadway median more than 600 yards from the State House--SNIP

They made an interesting choice. Most people who go to Annapolis tour the Naval Academy first. I guess the thought of being surrounded by military people didn’t appeal to them.

The visit was described as a "private tour" and a Washington Post reporter with an office in the State House was told to leave the building as the Obamas arrived. Other reporters were told they could not enter the building once the tour had begun. Several House and Senate staffers who were allowed to remain inside said they were told to turn away down hallways or into offices as the family passed. Outside a crowd of about 50 onlookers were pushed back three times, ultimately across a roadway.
The WaPo published this?? You mean even they are a little perturbed with the arrogance of this head??
This is really bizarre behavior. Even the governor didn’t know she was coming.
The longer this clown is in the WH the more he and his wife become their own worse enemies. Keep it up Barry, you're doing a great job!!

No really. What is the legal basis for this? If I were there in the public square smoking my cigar because I'm not allowed to smoke it inside any buildings anymore, could I tell the cop that I didn't feel like leaving?
And also, is the cop a Federale? I thought the O's didn't want the locals enforcing Federal law.

Traveling is exhausting especially when you are jumping time zones like that. Sure seems like something very odd is going on in the halls of the WH. I guess we can only speculate.

There’s an old song called, “Minnie the Moocher.” Haha, We can rename this, “Michelle the Moocher.” Sounds good to me.
Or at least declaring its valued as imputed income on their tax return for the year.
