Before birther row, Lt. Col. Lakin racked up medals as flight surgeon

(CNN) -- Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin is a poster soldier for the so-called birther movement, but for 17 years prior to his court-martial proceedings, the flight surgeon served around the globe, racking up a chest full of medals.
Military prosecutors allege that the Colorado native intentionally missed a plane in April after disobeying four lawful orders from superiors. Lakin has said he refused to deploy to Afghanistan until he sees proof that President Obama was born in the U.S.
In a YouTube explanation posted before he was charged, Lakin said he had no choice but the "distasteful one of inviting my own court-martial."
"If [Obama] is ineligible, then indeed, all orders are illegal because all orders have the origin with the commander in chief," he said.
The Uniform Code of Military Justice says the maximum punishment for both offenses -- missing his plane and disobeying lawful orders -- is a dishonorable discharge and up to two years in confinement. A guilty verdict could also result in forfeiture of his pay, which totals $7,959 a month, according to a charge sheet provided by a group sponsoring his defense.

Is that really Lakin’s issue? Because that is irrelevant. What’s more relevant is the citizen status of his parents and then becoming an Indonesian citizen.
With the current “documentation” a judge can “prove” Hawaiian birth in a trice.
Seems like a straw man setup.
Fact: Obama has gone to considerable effort and spent tax dollars and his own to prevent the release of the common documents that would prove ( or disprove) his natural born status.
Fact: A natural born president would be **HONORED** to promptly prove ( with the **best** evidence) to any soldier or citizen that he was indeed natural born and eligible to be president and Commander in Chief.
Conclusion: That Obama has treated military officers and citizens in the manner that he has, strongly indicates that he is a usurper.
Translation: The Lt Col did more during any random 5 minutes of his career than the Obamaloon has accomplished during his hole tawdry life.
At the preliminary decision stage, the JAG officer ruled that Obama's eligibility was irrelevant because Obama didn't issue the orders Lakin was disobeying.
Rush Limbaugh briefly mentioned Obama’s eligibility **twice** this week!! He joked about Obama’s questionable birthday on August 4th and then ( very respectfully and **seriously**) today.
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that Constitution loving Americans will let Obama get away with getting on the ballot in 2012.

Yes, according to a wealth of public statements by Lakin and his civilian defense counsel, that is precisely Lakin's "issue". He's not convinced Obama was born in HI, and until he sees "proof", he refuses to deploy.

In his video he distinctly states he questions his status as a natural born citizen!

Yes, you're referring to the IO's ruling prior to Lakin's Article 32 hearing, which Lakin then waived his right to. The Investigating Officer(IO) - who was a JAG in this instance, but (unfortunately) it's not always a JAG - denied defense counsel's request to subpoena the HI records and HI officials.
What was strange, was the IO did rule that DC could call other witnesses who (presumably) would raise the birth certificate issue, and one of those witnesses was Alan Keyes. Given the fact that Lakin could have put Keyes, and a couple others on the stand, it's a bit of a mystery why he then waived his Article 32 right, and missed the opportunity to put this testimony in the record.
As an aside, this IO - named LTC Driscoll - is a reservist who was just called to active duty. He is a former Navy fighter pilot who wen to law school after his initial term of obligation, then became a reserve Army JAG after finishing law school.

Easy to conclude that all miltary orders trickle upwards to the commander and chief, Obozo. Lt. Col. Lakin is a selfless hero. God bless the man.
