The National Boy Scout Jamboree ended, Wednesday, and President Obama broke a quasi-tradition by declining to address the Scouts.
The quadrennial event has been held at Fort A.P. Hill near Washington D.C. since 1981. This year's event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the organization.
In lieu of an appearance at the 10-day-long Jamboree, Obama appeared on the View, attended several Democrat fundraisers and visited Detroit.
He did send a short videotaped message which reportedly was shown in a mix of several other presentations. When the president appeared he was roundly booed by the 35,000 Scouts, one man who was there said.

My grandson was there....he said there was lots of booing.
This sounds like a great tip for Drudge.
So did I until I saw that video.
Oops. Nevermind.
I was Scoutmaster during Slick’s term (among other’s as well) and we held several Eagle Courts of Honor during his “reign”. The Governor, LT Gov. and other officals sent very nice parchment quality letters of appreciation for their achievements in Scouting complete with seals and offical headings.
At each Court of Honor I noticed that the wording was different also, not “form” letters although of course there were similarities as you would expect but they were refreshingly personal.
Ol’ Slick sent postcards, yep, I kept one to remind me of the crassness of people like him. One group of Eagles threw their Clinton cards away after being presented them. It was great.
I loved Scouting (did it for many years), if your Troop is run traditionally, you can’t go wrong.
good enuff for me...BOOOOOOOOOO!
I seriously doubt this. I'm sure the Scouts were, as their oath says, "Respectful".
Yeap we got a lurker here watching the thread.
Each point of the Scout law is fully defined in the Scout Handbook or you can find it at several websites. Each of the points refelcts the internal character of a Scout, not something owed to an individual.
Each Scout must make the call as to how each point of the Law applies to his situation.
I would not Boo the President, whatever he is, while representing Scouting. Just my call.
My grandson was there....he said there was lots of booing.
Wow and there is now video up in post 23..hope it does not get yanked
The video shows them booing respectfully.
To believe the report, I would have to know which specific statement was booed
LOL
Read the rest of the thread :-)
Thanks for that info. I don't automatically take the word of an anonymous source, so I watched the link to the You Tube video. It was interesting that the comment on the video made it CLEAR that those who were booing the President were doing so ONLY because he chose not to attend the Jamboree.
Oops! I didn’t get that oath right, did I? I was almost positive that “respectful” was there, but apparently, it’s not.
Looks like loon is getting censored. On you tube too boot. They are pulling the majority of his insulting comments.
Thanks for posting, mware.
Personally, I would have preferred they just stood, turned their backs and gave it the silent treatment, but hey can stand on their own two feet.
The bottom line is that Øbama and the Boy Scouts have values and morals which are diametrically opposed.
If he, his party (Democrats) and his political circles (Liberals, Socialists) had their way, there would be only two choices for the BSA.
1) Allow openly activist gays to lead America’s boys, sharing their pup tents and handing out merit badges for their perverse debauchery.
2) Cast the entire organization to the ash heap of history for standing up to purity and actually MEANING the words they swear an oath to uphold.
Ah, that solves it. I like it.
