Power: Show Me State voters overwhelmingly rejected the federal mandate to buy health insurance. Those who ignored the consent of the governed to pass ObamaCare take heed: The governed no longer consent.
It is fitting that Missouri was the first state to hold a public referendum on ObamaCare, sending the notion that government can shred the Constitution to impose its will to a crushing defeat with three-quarters of the voters approving Proposition C. The measure would forbid the federal government from penalizing people who do not buy health insurance.
A year ago, on Aug. 6, 2009, Kenneth Gladney, an African-American vendor, was beaten by thugs wearing the purple shirts of the Service Employees International Union outside a town hall forum called by Rep. Mel Carnahan, D-Mo., at a school in Mehlville, Mo.
It was a summer of tea parties and growing town hall protests of administration plans to nationalize health care. Gladney thought he could make a few bucks selling flags saying "Don't Tread On Me" a flag from America's war of independence that has become the flag of the Tea Party movement.
Back then, they were called an "angry mob." Well, it turns out the angry mob can vote, and they don't like to be trod upon by leaders who dismiss their wishes, vote on bills they don't read and then expect gratitude for adding unconscionable debt and regulation on us and our heirs.
Some will dismiss the referendum as irrelevant and something the courts will sweep aside. But on Monday a federal judge allowed Virginia's suit against ObamaCare on constitutional grounds to proceed. Some 20 other states have made a similar legal challenge. And politicians should note that voter anger is not dissipating but forming into a perfect political storm set to come ashore in November.

This will get set aside by the DNC.
And the social justice controlled Supreme court shall refuse to hear it.
Voting is a 100% wasted effort.
There is only one way to enforce the US Constitution.
Good for Missouri in giving DC the finger, figuratively speaking.
November is coming for you Congress.
CA should do the same with the federal court overturning voter-approved Prop 8 State Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage.
You are an idiot.
The federal government will no doubt have the state law overturned. However, do they want to imprison 70% of the state of Missouri to enforce it?
Wether you think it was a “wasted” vote or not, it puts the pinheads on notice that the “peons” are uppidy come November.
I think OK, AZ and FL (not to mention the other state legislatures who passing bills) are putting the word out that they aren’t lying down on this.
A fact that the Democratic Party Media will be desperate to re-frame, and over the next three months they'll give it their very best effort. Panel discussions will convene - "Where does all this anger come from? Why, it must be jobs, and a lack of appreciation of all the Good Things this Best Of All Administrations is doing for them despite the horrible Bush economy. Oh, and because they're racist. Yeah, that's it, stupid and racist."
It's about Nancy Pelosi marching past a crowd of protesters smirking and waving her gavel on her way to sell their grandchildren into debt. The message there was "I'm the power here and you little people don't matter." With her were liars and race-baiters who were only too happy to use the opportunity to twist the message, and the media who were recording it were falling over themselves to play along. And so they did.
That's what this is about. There will, I am sure, be a latter-day Sam Donaldson ascribing the whole thing to a "temper tantrum." But we won't be the ones crying. Come on, November!
I took my 18 year old with me to cast her very first vote. I’ve never been more proud to be from the show-me state.
congratulations
Missouri, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana and Virginia have passed legislation of varying degrees in opposition to National Socialist Healthcare.
This my FRiends is a huge deal. If I am not mistaken, there's never been so many state laws (outside of secession) passed with the intent to negate portions or all of a specific act of Congress.
You got that right! I walked out the voting booth this Tuesday after voting yes on C. I felt like history had been made and I was part of it. We aren’t gonna take it no more!
Missouri - The WE’LL SHOW THEM State!
