I think incidents like this will just get more people to realize, and folks who think that it is not the case, that we are dealing with a soft tyranny.

re: http://www.cordobainitiative.org/

Córdoba, Spain is the site of a Great Mosque built upon the ruins of a Visigoth church. When Córdoba was captured by the Christian Spanish king of Castile, Ferdinand III, the mosque reverted to a Christian sanctuary. The Great Mosque was intended as a statement of Islamic victory - and I expect, so is this one.

I wonder how people would everybody feel about a KKK group setting up their clubhouse in the spot MLK was shot?

How about members of Manson’s cult buying the property of Sharon Tate and building a compound?

A gun range next door to Columbine?

An Oldsmobile dealership on Chappaquiddick Island?

Think there would be any outrage?

Wait until you see the administration’s plans for a National Mosque to be built between the White House and the Capitol.

This is the equivalent of a monument praising the achievements of the Imperial Japanese Navy at the site of the Arizona.

New Yorkers get the government they deserve. I feel not a shred of sympathy for them. Perhaps this will finally be the incident that opens their eyes but I doubt it.

Just simply post a poster of the famous Mohammed cartoons across the street.

There are those in NY who think you haven't suffered enough.

Thanks, NYC Landmarks Commission.. for nothing.

A woman carries a sign as she attends a meeting of the New York City Landmarks Commission in lower Manhattan, August 3, 2010. The City agency denied "landmark" status for an old building near the site of the September 11 attacks, clearing the way for the building to be torn down to make room for a Muslim cultural center which has spurred heated debate. Better yet, have a large posture of those famous Danish Mohammed cartoons placed next to them.

Prediction: Once build, it will not last long.

There are mosques all over New York. Unless there are some tough Hasids who want to make a statement, this mosque will stand.
