Politico: Dems race GOP to health 'repeal'

For the first time, House Democrats are proposing repealing a piece of the health care overhaul, one that small businesses have been warning is going to be overly burdensome.

The move comes just four months after the Democrats' health plan passed in March. The provision would have required businesses to file 1099 tax forms for all transactions with vendors that total over $600.

Due for implementation in 2012, it would have raised $19 billion over 10 years to pay for the health care overhaul.

Rep. Scott Murphy (D-NY) offered the bill on Friday morning. Ways and Means Chairman Sander Levin (D-Mich.), spoke in favor of the bill on the House floor Friday.

The move comes after Republicans threatened to attach a similar amendment to a vote on the Democrats? jobs legislation late Thursday.

House Democrats postponed the vote over worry that the Republican amendment, a motion to recommit by Rep. Dave Camp (Mich.) would pass and make it look like they had made headway, albeit in a small way, in their repeal movement.

Don’t believe the Democrats at all on this one. They will say whatever they can to get re-elected.

Waiting for a GOP senator or Michael Steele to sadly shake their head while intoning: “Something of this magnitude cannot be repealed”.

Wait for it.

Oh really? Who really believes that? The economy is not a static model, idiot.

Repealing just this little portion would make the Dems look very good. They can say that they fixed the one problem that the pubs could find with the health bill and the rest of the bill is perfect.

It will make repealing the bill almost impossible.

I would say they’re tired of the phone calls to their offices. None of these idiots (even the RINOs) read this bill, and they never will.

Socialized Medicine is here to stay; it will NEVER be repealed, save a Revolution and overthrow of the pigs that are in Washington today. Parts will be discarded of the original Bill, to gain favor with ignorant voters, but a Universal Coverage Plan (aka, "The Public Option") will be put in place to insure every one of the free-riders who don't work, don't pay taxes, and live totally off the backs of Taxpayers. Illegals will be granted blanket Amnesty, and they will also fill the ranks of free-riders.

Only a fool would think a government program EVER gets overturned.

The USSC will only require that the MANDATE for buying insurance or being fined is Un-Constitutional, but removal of that part only will make the Socialized Medicine the Law of the Land.

I read this as “We didn’t realize how obvious some of the job destroying, middle class sapping, IRS-enabling nonsense in this bill we didn’t read actually was, so now we are trying to fix the obvious stuff before people get so damn mad they come to lynch us.”

At least that is what the should be saying ...

Talk about psychological deception!

Democrats who voted yes, on our religious and traditional holidays, when the calls were 900 to 1 -don’t do it, now want it repealed?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh wait, this is from Journolist....politico.

They cannot repeal any part of it which would bring in revenues without changing the entire story that they pushed this with. The CBO had to come out with numbers before they voted. Will they re vote as the cost goes visibly higher? Theres no way because they will be giving pubbies more, not less ammo for November.

Yes, the Republicans should demand that CBO rescore Obamacare in light of the 1099 provision repeal.

Honk if you think the health care overhaul will cost $19 billion over ten years.

Doncha love the way lefty blogs like Politico jerk around the stupid people?
