PHOENIX – A judge has blocked the most controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law from taking effect Thursday, handing a major legal victory to opponents of the crackdown.
The law will still take effect Thursday, but without many of the provisions that angered opponents — including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

You’ve hit on a great point. At this point, aren’t whites the only ones required to show license, registration and insurance? Everyone else gets a free pass. Therefore there ought to be a racism lawsuit possible.
Somewhere in Arizona are a few people, as yet unknown.. good, honest, law-abiding citizens...who will soon become famous...becuase it’s inevitable that someday soon, some illegals, who were NOT determined to be so because the cops were enjoined from checking their status, will have been released, only to later commit a heinous crime..murder, rape...and then watch what happens..
