President Obama and family headed back to Martha's Vineyard for vacation

The White House today confirmed what many islanders have been anticipating for weeks: The first family will return to Martha's Vineyard for vacation next month.

President Obama and his family are scheduled to vacation on the island from Aug. 19 to Aug. 29.

The White House did not provide details on the getaway, but the Globe reported earlier this month that a reservation company has been holding rooms across the Vineyard for the contingent of staff who travel with the president.

There are certain demographics who just love, love, love free stuff. Or at least, stuff that is free to them -— regardless of who may be picking up the tab on the other end.

Do you ever get the feeling that this “First Family” is going to milk this ride for all it’s worth while they can? I’m really beginning to feel that’s what’s going on here.

The Sock-Puppet-In-Chief isn't needed around Washington unless those truly pulling the levers need a patsy to put a public face on their machinations. Hell, I don't think that even the Dims with Platinum Card privileges are fully savvy to what is going on in the Oval Orifice. The Won is a fully manufactured and owned tool of another power we don't have smoking-gun evidence of yet, but I think we're heading for a real social, Constitutional, and possibly diplomatic barn-burner when this comes to a head. I was going to take a modest vacation this summer...but...with no work and no health insurance and hubby getting a life threatening blood clot I had to forgo...its a slap to the face everytime this asshole goes on a luxury vacation while those of us suffering through this recession are forced to watch years of our lives be waste away waiting for some sort of reprive from this nightmare. May he rot in hell.
