Why?
She said she ‘believes’ it was a white farmer......
No proof...but it sure worked for CNN..

It may be that the murderer is dead and perhaps dead for some time....or it may be a Senator.

Maybe it’s like Joe Biden when he repeatedly lied about his wife being killed by a drunked driver?

She’s smart enough to know all that and if she and her family wanted to go down that road, they would - without your help.

It appears that she was involved with her husband to be right after her father's death. But it sounds like Charles was around BEFORE the father was killed.
Charles was a true civil rights leader with a peaceful philosophy. It just may be that her father was killed because of Charles Sherrod's activities.
It's just the way she said it that leads me to believe she wants to leave it the way it is.

My point exactly-what came out today was “she said”, “ostensibly”, etc.
I want to know what happened from somewhat other than her.
I’ve been through Albany, Georgia and that area several times-it’s a majority black area. I looked it up-The Albany Southwest Georgian is a weekly black paper, started in 1938. I’m sure this was news the would have thought “fit for print” back in 1965-both the crime and the injustice afterward.

Or it may not be-after all, her mother is still alive. Even so, why not give the names anyway-and if there is an avenue for their kids, etc to apologize on behalf of the perps and maybe cough up some $, why not do it and give the money to help present day disadvantaged kids?

I don’t know that she has that luxury-she brought it up—the MSM has used it as the reason for her racial animosity (like a white woman whose father was murdered by blacks would be off the hook)
Let’s hear what happened.

HuffPo makes it sound like her father was killed BEFORE the Civil Rights Act was signed. He wasn’t. It was signed July 2, 1964. Miller was killed March 25, 1965. Why are they being “murky”?

Thanks for posting that-I had already read it.
Gee whiz-the HuffPo and Morris Dees’ group-the SPLC or whatever acronym it is-no agendas there with those folks. We now know the man was a deacon and grew cucumbers-but “the exact circumstances” of the killing “are murky”
Sherrod doesn’t sound so “murky” in her account.

That would be fine if they let “their people” do the investigation. She would do the same for you, Cracker!
To: nasube
Perhaps her mother knew the alledged murderer, and he happens to be a democrat of some import in the county. As long as the perp remains in question he can remain a republican.

Hosie Miller was gunned down by a white man in a dispute over cows... That violence is what started Shirley Sherrod on the road to who she is today. it compelled here to stay in the South and fight, which is understandable, but then it led to her redemptive vision and her notion of transcending race, which given what happened to her own flesh and blood -- is nothing short of remarkable. Ironically, a surprising number of positive things have come out of this bizarre Sherrod tale -- but nothing more positive than resurrecting the forgotten memory of Hosie Miller.
