Just when you thought Congress was spent -- literally -- and done for the year they'll turn around and surprise you. No money left to do anything? United Republican opposition? Democrats are planning to take on the great white whale of spending: extending President Bush's middle class tax cuts. The cost is estimated from $1.6 trillion to extend them to as much as $2.7 trillion to make them permanent. According to Senate Democratic sources, the latter is what they're going to go for -- and they're planning to do it before the midterm elections.

Exactly. The rats have been running against the “Bush Tax Cuts” since they were passed. I don’t see them adopting any of his policies after blaming him for every economic failure they’ve caused. They will look like the foolish filthy rats that they are.

Okay, I know, I know, but I just can't take it any more --

No president has the power to tax, increase or reduce those in existence, this labeling of some tax cuts as Bush's, other tax increases as 0bama's, it's making me crazy. CONGRESS is the body doing it, regardless which president signs the legislation into law.

Thank you, I step down off my pedant soap box now. ;)

f JFK were alive today and had the same political ideology he had in the early 60’s, he would be a Republican.

Yeah, but we'd run him out as a dirty RINO from Massachusetts. ;-)

That’s a great analogy.....everything leading up to the coup de’gras, the health care bill, monetary controls, the stimulus bill, the TARP bill, etc., prepared the economy for it’s death just as the daggers to the back of the bull’s neck prepared him for the sword.

"Where are they pulling that number from? Fantasyland?"

Far too polite. I was going to suggest that they pulled it from a particular bodily orifice, but....

There is still a terrible price to pay up ahead for Obama’s utopian socialism. You will see it when 75% of your pay goes to federal taxes....plus the state taxes.

“Dems to Extend Bush’s Middle Class Tax Cuts”

Sure they will.

The only sure thing is there will be a whole lotta talkin’ about extending the tax cuts the closer the elections get.

The RATS have got to be scared to DEATH of the upcoming purge.

Yeah, you're right.

The RATS are going to try to fool the American public once again by pretending to be "moderate".

This is RAT 101. Pretend that you are a "moderate" at election time and once in office, govern as far left as you can get away with. Its work for a number of years. I hope that American people will finally see though this charade.

But is it their definition of who is “middle class” they’re talking about?

Exactly. Why do I just know that I am going to be *&(@#$ in all this?

Democrats realize that raising taxes in this sluggish economy will only hurt in creating jobs. Sen. Lisa Murkowski pointed this out on Tuesday. Sean Hackbarth Senate Republican Conference

The leftists/communists/DemocRATs ALWAYS promise tax cuts or extending tax cuts BEFORE elections.

Their actions AFTER elections prove them to be liars 100% of the time.

Conservatives should simply make the case that they want complete tax cuts but will take what they can get now until they regain power.

How do conservatives make this case? The only place they will be able to get the message out is Fox News, where most of the viewers ALREADY KNOW THIS. The rest of the media will censor the conservative message.

Too much, too little, too late. In the long haul it is good for us but they are only doing it because they ALL know they have pink slips waiting to be fired.

They’ll just take credit for them.

Rather than say they are extending Bush tax cuts, they’ll call them “new Obama measures to assist the struggling middle class”.

Why are democrats only interested in cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans?

Oh...wait...that was only what they were saying when Bush wanted them in the first place.

Brilliant - exactly the way the Republicans should play it.
