The Rev. Al Sharpton did not particularly care for the (your adjective here) comments about late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner by Rush Limbaugh, which I blogged here earlier in the day:
"The statements made by Rush Limbaugh about George Steinbrenner were repugnant and offensive whether they were intended to be facetious or tongue and cheek. The fact that he could make these comments less than 24-hours after Mr. Steinbrenner's death makes it even more offensive. For the last 20-years I have known George Steinbrenner and we have quarrelled over diversity and community programs but I always found him fair, direct, and genuinely prone to do what he felt was right. He generated a lot of money for a lot of players as well as for baseball as a whole and should not be disparaged in any matter. In later years, in a twist of irony, his granddaughter and my daughter became close, which only brought me closer to knowing him and we developed a mutual respect. Mr. Limbaugh and his broadcasters owe his family an apology that the first day of their mourning to have to be subjected to this type of rhetoric. To think that just a year ago Mr. Limbaugh sought to be an owner of an NFL team and has now said this about a legendary baseball team owner. This says more about Mr. Limbaugh than it does Mr. Steinbrenner."

“That cracker made alot of African-Americans millionaires...”
Thats it, thats the statement that we’re going to hear for the next week, and it’s going to be played over, and over again along with all the blubbering about what a racist, and vile thing it was to say.
Remind yourself of all the things we’ve heard about Governor Palin, and all the things that black panther party creature has said, and marvel at the selective outrage over these few words from Rush.
Well, to people like Sharpton, it’s pretty repugnant to call someone a capitalist.
I have no idea what Al’s using on his hair, but he needs to stop. I think it’s causing brain damage.
LOL!
Translation: “Hey Limbaugh- Steinbrenner was my b*tch, so back off!”
And HOW did they meet exactly? Where do children meet each other - IN SCHOOL ... and as court depositions showed, despite Al Sharphand having no assets, his children were going to the best private schools in NYC>
The inheritance tax is going up to 55%?
Good point. Hope Rush opens that can of worms.
I can see the liberals in Congress right this minute trying to figure out how to pass an ex post facto law and a Bill of Attainder rolled into one and get it to pass constitutional muster.
Tawana Brawley is Rev Al’s only legacy. The rest is all bluster. Go play in the road, Rev.
yes. Death Tax will be back Jan 1st if I am not mistaken.
YEP...in 2011....unless Congress does something about it.
Instead of “Cracker's” maybe white folks should call each other "Nabisco's" so white folks have their own out bounds "N word"
"Hey, Yo..what up Nabisco!"
Notso Sharpton
My dad served under Lieutenant George Steinbrenner at Lockbourne AFB way back in the '50s :-)
I heard Rush make those comments today. He said, beforehand, that it was going to cause the Liberals heads to implode.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!
