Turns Out Last Week's Sun Valley Media Retreat Was One Big Obama Trash-Talking Session
Joe Pompeo

Not much of the chatter being exchanged among moguls at last week's annual big-media gathering in Sun Valley, Idaho made its way into the press.
But it turns out that much of what the moguls talked about, while they boozed and golfed and white water rafted and stuffed their faces during the all-expeneses-paid retreat, was President Obama and his attitude toward the business community, according to The Daily Beast's Peter Lauria, who spent the week collecting on- and off-the-record dish from the people who "collectively control hundreds of billions, if not trillions of dollars, of the countrys gross domestic product"
"The most generous comment about the current state of the economy," Lauria writes, "came from Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who serves as an adviser to the president on science and technology, and even then the best he could muster was that, 'Everybody is in a sort of funk.'
Here are some other remarks Lauria was able to get:
"When asked if he thought the administration was anti-business, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes smiled silently for a few seconds, then said, 'I think its time for a glass of wine.' I do think the administration will blame business for things too quickly, said a brave Peter Chernin, the former News Corp. chief operating officer and heavy Democratic donor. I dont think they are anti-business, its more nuanced than that, but they appear that way because they jump too quickly on the bandwagon.
To start to have negative relationships with the banks hurts our economy because we depend on them. Former Yahoo and Warner Bros. CEO Terry Semel.

These are people who played a major role in putting this bum in office. Why should I give consideration to their business acumen when their political acumen is so harmful to America?
Barak Obama is Hugo Chavez without military experience.
Trash talk?
Boy I hope these guys dont really get tough on Obama. The poor boy might get a complex or something. [/S]
LOL. I take it Joe does not think much of these people.
The opening sentence tells you all you need to know. The MSM ignored the meeting because far too many participants told the TRUTH about Hussein’s agenda to destroy the US economy. And hacks like this writer only covered the event to trash those who exposed Hussein.
Not only did these guys install Obama in office, they cointinue to prop him up. If the corrupt MSM treated Obama half the way they treated Bush, Obama would not be able to leave the security net of the White House.
The corrupt MSM let Obama, Pelosi, and Reid pass ObamaCare AGAINST the clear wishes and interest of the vast majority of the American people.
Obama is bad for their business? You’re breakin’ my heart.
Exactly. They're bad for their business as well. They're the ones who backed him. Now they're whining? Tough.
After Obama won, Schmidt was a member of President Obama's transition advisory board. He proposed that the easiest way to solve all of the United States' problems at once, at least in domestic policy, is by a stimulus program that rewards renewable energy and, over time, attempts to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy. He has since become a new member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology PCAST.
How can somebody be so smart and yet so stupid at the same time?
Buyers’ remorse.
so where does this clown work now? Obviously not for Fox...
A bunch of elitist big shots playing dumb with eyes glazed over. Stupid asses thought they were in for good times with the commie traitor. And now?
This article is pure rubbish. These are the same morons that put Bambi in office and this writer is just making stuff up with this little ditty:
“So bad is the administrations current relationship with corporate America that even the typically Democratic-leaning media moguls are suggesting that the independent electorate is unsettled enough to tilt the upcoming November elections in favor of the Republicans. In fact, that was the hope of one cynical mogul looking to jumpstart his business.”
When pigs fly...rotflol!
What is needed to calm fears that he is a socialist is for Obama to announce that he is fullfledged believer in free-market capitalism while holding copies of books by Milton Friedman, Hayek, Bastiat, Rand, and a few others. He should then state that capitalism is responsible for America being as wealthy as it is, and that socialism only leads to disaster. He should then back that up with action by announcing huge spending cuts and tax cuts for businesses. Don’t hold your breath.
The underlying sense of the article is that these guys think Obama and team have no clue about what to do: that they react emotionally, and with short-term motives; that they have no idea about what a business-based economy is all about; and that the Obama team is vindictive and dangerous to them.
It doesn't necessarily bode well for the Republicans -- after all, there's also good money to be made by stepping in to help the Democrats "fix" things -- but it does mean that Obama is not safe from challenges on the Democrat side of the aisle: another Hillary Clinton run (for example) might well gain their support.
It takes a really smart guy to make a really big mistake.
The idiots in the media should be the first ones up against the wall when the revolution comes.
Starting a business is the triumph of hope over history, as 96% of all new businesses fail within five years. Businesspeople are generally optimists. To have bowed before the Obama Golden Calf must be doubly disappointing now.
