First Lady Michelle Obama brought renewed energy to the NAACP today, delivering the keynote speech at the annual convention one day before the nation's largest civil rights group is expected to condemn what it calls racist elements in the Tea Party movement.
The nation's largest and oldest civil rights organization will vote on the resolution Tuesday during its annual convention in Kansas City, Mo. In addition to jobs and the economy, anti-Tea Party activism has been a large focus of the gathering, which conservative leaders say is driven solely by a political agenda.
The resolution is part of the movement to realign people against the Tea Party, which has emerged as a strong grassroots, albeit fragmented, force across the country.
"We have to close the enthusiasm gap," NAACP president Ben Jealous said in an interview with the Associated Press Friday. "The danger of the Tea Party is that people see them and think about periods in history when groups like them were much more powerful than they are now, and so a lot of what we spend energy doing is explaining to people what reality is, and that the reality is that the majority from 2008 still exists."
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in coordination with 170 other groups, including labor unions, is planning a protest march in Washington, D.C., Oct. 10 as the next step in building momentum against the Tea Party.

Danger ? Groups like them ?
The NAACP president is clearly implying that today’s Tea Party is a modern version of the KKK.
LOL! Of being white?
Pardon me.......... Why I heard just last week her husband give a speach PRAISING the RACIST elements of the Democratic Party at Byrd’s funeral.
What happened to your law lic. Michelle?
Indeed- his background is decidedly leftist. Oh- and just for good measure- guess who was the attorney for the infamous professor who caused the Cambridge Mass PD to act stupidly (according to the president)....
...you guessed it...Ogletree..
I’m black, and I’m a Tea Partier. Am I racist, Michelle?
Years ago, I did not totally believe it when people said Zero would use race in an attempt to divide the country.
I believe that now.
First you have the New Black Panther fool, and now the First (whatever you want to call her) addressing the NAACP.
Geez the Democrats must be proud.

Heck it seems like the NAACP is the modern version of the KKK. No whites, lots of slurs against whites. Lot of racism, profiling of whites. Veiled threats against whites. Defense of people who attack whites.
It seems that blacks are the most racist group in America today. How many white or asian members of NAACP are there? What about the Black caucus? How many white or asian members? These racist pigs need to STFU. Racists. How many white or asian people do the nobamas have in their entourage? Usually, it seems to be all blacks. What racist frauds.
WOW!
She shouldn’t wear polka dots—looks like lizaed skin on her.
NAACAP is so irrelevant nowadays, especially to young blacks. Nobody cares what they are saying, so let them rant on.
LIZARD...LIZARD...
Great pics of our reincarnated Jackie O....LMAO!
Given the changes happening to America, there is almost no racism? Where the American people ever allowed to vote on Affirmative Action? Or a change in immigration policy that favoring non-whites? Or on a policy that has ensured that white children born in the next few years will be taught ot hate themselves inside a government system that officially discriminates against them, or at least those boys not drugged to oblivion? If white America were an iota racist, there would be blood in the streets. The only racism or even racial consciousness is on the left or in minorities who vote left.
Conservatives want nothing to do with racialism. Heck, there is a good chance that this post will be erased.
