Mika Brzezinski wants to "cut the crap" when it comes to building speculation as to whether Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012. According to Mika, Palin's candidacy is a done deal, and the press is letting itself be sucked into a phony build-up.
Mika is so sure that Sarah is running that on today's Morning Joe she was willing to wager a dubious Jonathan Capehart $1,000. Brzezinski's comments came in response to Politico's report, highlighted by Mike Allen, that Palin has raised significant money and built a nascent campaign staff.

That is BS! She 'quit' to save the state of Alaska from the bankrupting lawsuits the kooks were filing one after another against her. Alaska law loophole allowed for them to do that to her and the kooks didn't care what it cost the state of Alaska. They just hated Palin!
I would love to have that kind of fight in a political election where you can say what you really think instead of what the wussies think you should say.
Not to mention that this has nothing to do with the original analogy....giving that Patton did INDEED need to retreat many times in order to win the greater war.
There are two ways to not hold on to a position...retreat or advance.
While retreat can be useful, it is my opinion that Palin has not retreated but advanced.
She is doing much more damage to the enemy now than she would have by 'holding her postion'.
I don't see how, while interesting, the relationships between Patton, Ike and MacArthur are relevant.
Okay, lets hypothetically assume she is elected President If you think they won’t pull the same crap times 10 (at least), you’re mistaken. Obviously, there is defintely something about her that drives the Libs crazy. IMHO, it is because she gave a speech at the RNC that (for one shining moment) threatened the inevitability of “The ONE”. My larger point is that they will go for her jugular, 24/7. So...if she cut and ran as Govenor, its not going to get any easier as POTUS.
As President she would not be subject to the type of ethics complaint process that she was as governor.
I think she's one of the brighter people on MSNBC, which isn't saying much.
Palin vs. Hillary will be an interesting campaign.
Considering those she's endorsing - McCain, Fiornia, etc. - that's a bit worrisome.
What she faced in 2008 is nothing compared to what she'll face in 2012.
Nah, she’s just running for RNC chair.
No. There’s not. So, pick a side.
McChrystal!
I don’t think Patton ever retreated.
Nooo... those quotes are from the speech Georgie gave to Third Army troops before D-day.
Georgie used to say, “When I want to get their attention, I give it to them loud, and I give it to them dirty.”
You’ve got a point there. Look, one thing osama has done is not brook opposition by the whinging cowards in the media. I think W did the same thing when he declined to discuss his history with drugs when them. She’s either got to have thought this out, or she isn’t going to make it. Nobody is going to give her the nomination or the election. The Presidency is for those who reach out and TAKE IT. Hopefully not by violent or illegal means, but... fairness is of concern to the looser.
The same people on this thread who claim Palin is ‘damaged goods’ for quitting as Alaska Governor need a SERIOUS ‘come to Jesus’ moment:
1) realize that the second coming of Ronald Reagan is NOT going to happen
2) no candidate will EVER be 100% perfect
3) definitely need to stop putting our conservative leaders on a pedestal-—let the lefties do that
4) we are in the midst of a all out war with the forces of collectivism and the ONLY person who is fighting back that the left truly fears is Palin.
I’ll take my chances with the Tina Fey look-a-like in 2012 over all the rest of the GOP hopefuls.
And we don’t have any other candidates that have proven nearly her resilience. She and her family will be ready.
Agreed. Hence my initial post!
Isn't it smarter to survive and fight than submit and die?
